Hey, I've made something similar for a rabbit hutch and it really was as easy as it looked. The only thing is that the ties which attached it to the wire mesh weakened along the seam after a lot of use so it may be helpful to make sure that's extra strong. I've also seen some with large pockets along the side, maybe that'd be helpful in a kennel where all the dogs have different stuff? Depends how fancy-pants you want to be
