Well, maybe the first time he did this because the litter tray was not clean, and now there's his smell he's doing it again...

You're right to check if he hasn't got any stones or urinary tract infection but make sure you wash thoroughly the places he's peed on...

I think I might have to get a new couch. My couch is fabric so we are thinking on getting a leather one (easier to clean). We took the covers off of the couch and washed them and then put some "Kids 'N' Pets Instant All Purpose Stain and Odor Remover" on them and the foam part too and it is supposed to safely remove urine odors. I guess we will see if it works.

In 20 minutes I will take him to the vet and see what they have to say. Hopefully nothing bad.

if it has become a habit, it may take a few goes with that cleaner before the smell is completely removed.
you could also try some lemon oil over the top to deter him from the soiled area.

Just got back from the vet. Cooter has a slight bladder infection. The vet put him on an antibiotic and a pill to help his bladder lining heal. The vet said that she sees a lot of baby cats with this problem because they grow so fast that their immune system can't keep up. She also said that he could possible be prone to getting these infections. We wont know about that though until he is done with his antibiotics.

Guess I am going to have fun giving him pills. We are going to try to put it in some wet food and see if he will eat it. If not, I guess we will have to find another way of giving him pills.

I am sorta relieved but am worried about him being prone to these infections.

thank goodness you know what it is...make sure that area is thouroughly cleaned & hopefully once he has recovered he will use his tray again.
listen out for those meows & take him to the tray when you hear him, praising him lots while he goes so that the litter tray is a pleasant experience.
at the moment it hurts when he goes & he's associating the tray with a bad feeling so it will help if you can make him enjoy it.
i hope he's over it soon & fingers crossed it's just while he's growing & he isn't prone to it
