i agree with annc, she'll be better off at home this time, while she's still settling. even though your friend popping in might scare her a little, it will still be less scary than the cattery or a car journey

Over the years I've often left my cats in the house, working on the theory that they're better in a familiar environment (mine have outdoor access). If I'm just going overnight, I usually just leave enough food and let them get on with it. If I'm going for longer then I have a great neighbour who they already know and who feeds them and spends a bit of time with them. I know I can trust him to make sure they're all present and correct and to do the right thing if they're not!! At Christmas they go into a cattery because the neighbour goes away and I'd rather not place the responsibility on a stranger.

I too would suggest that Deana would probably be best left in the house rather than taken on a journey to a strange place - she needs to know where home is even if her slave is missing for a couple of days!

Deana has spent the best part of the night with me downstairs.

She is becoming rather loving in a distant kind of way.

This I can deal with because I have fallen head over heals in love with her and I am sure she will come around finally one day

Just wish she would let me kiss her as I absolutely love kissing cats. This might sound weird but I do not mean it in a weird way

It's great that she's starting to come round.

I know what you mean about kissing. My Bengal, Dolly doesn't really go for it unfortunately. The moggies, Samson and Delilah absolutely love to be kissed and will put their faces up to mine to share an "intimate moment". Poppy was less sure to begin with - she didn't like anyone looming over her. She's more accepting now and will let me kiss her neck and body but not her head.

Last night was an absolute dream, she kept me up until the wee early hours playing and chatting

She is now asleep but hopefully will be as boisterous tonight as last night

it's so nice to read that your patience and understanding is paying off rewards. She sounds like a very lucky cat. I'm a very lucky slave as mine was very easy and adaptable - so I wasn't really able to help before. So pleased for you both

Don't give up on her becoming a lap cat, this can take quite a lot of time !
