Hi Mel, thanks for your (and everyone elses) concern and good wishes. Max began last night sleeping on our bed but then left and (I assume) went to sleep in his usual place in his hammock on the cat tree.

Didn't hear anything until this morning when both Max and Millie came onto the bed at about 7.30. Unfortunately, Max did a big wee right on the bed when he jumped up. This is very unusual for him. The bed is quite high because we are in a spare bedroom whilst we decorate the master bedroom, so whether the jump up loosened his bladder I don't know. Having said that just as I write this, I'm informed that Max has had another wee in the bathroom. Ironic I know!

Apart from that he looks just the same as he ever did with his bright eyes and cheeky face.

I was looking at another discussion group specifically for owners of cats with FIP which seems to suggest that in the UK the FIP tests usually go to Glasgow University, so I need to check that that is where Max's test has gone. Apparently, only 18% of tests sent there come back as FIP, mainly I think because of the knowledge and research there. My main cause for concern is of misdiagnosis, and the more I read, the more I dread this happening. If the tests haven't gone to Glasgow, then I'll make sure that another one does.

Well I'm just a soppy pet owner (actually they own me, Stan is at present walking around in my jogging bottoms!) But I know somebody here will be able to tell you about the testing in Glasgow.
Alfie became very unwell after a week of having him and would wee on our bed and me! so I think it's their way of telling us that they don't feel well.
I'm glad you managed to get some sleep. It's such a worrying time for you but your doing all the right things.
Glad your taking advantage of the 6 weeks insurance I thinks it's just one less thing to worry about, if it's with Pet plan they are very good, I had to claim for Alfie and they settled without any agro.
Try not to worry about mis-diagnosis (easy for me to say I know) Chin up and try to have a nice day with Max and Millie and of course the o/h.
Post anytime we all check in regularly. xxxxxxxxxxx

Hi All,
Well Max has been a bit lethargic today, and has spent the day relaxing and watching the football with me, sometimes on my lap, sometimes not. Still looks the same though.

Whilst I was looking at some photos, I discovered this one of Max, which was taken on 19th August. Unless my eyes deceive me, it appears to show a small lump on Max's right side at a point above his foot. You can see it if you look straight up from his foot. I wondered if A) my eyes were deceiving me and B) whether this was any indication of anything else?

Perhaps I'm clutching at straws?

Hi I'm sorry you are are still waiting for conclusive results for Max, the wait must be agonising, I'm sure the vet is just being as thorough as he can be. Poor Max just must be out of sorts a bit just now.

Yes I can see what appears to look like a little fluid like lump on Max's side your not imagining it! Maybe this was the onset what ever it is thats wrong at the moment?

How is little Millie, I hope she is well.

I Hope this week brings you some answers.

Morning All,
After finding the photo yesterday of Max with what appears to be a small lump on his side, I looked for some other photos, and found another one which I took on 4th August, a week before I even picked him up. Again, I might be imagining it, but if you look above his left (inside) leg, it appears as though there is a small swelling. Looking at the spot pattern and comparing it to the other photo taken on the 19th, could it be the same thing?

Max is just the same this morning, quite bouncy, eating his food, and depositing it! No other signs of illness at all.

I'm going to the vets this morning for 3 things. Firstly, I'm going to take these photos, as I've printed them off. Secondly I'm going to ask if they sent the tests to Glasgow University, and if not, I'm going to request that they do, and thirdly, they lent me a carrier seeing as though Max wrecked the lining of the other one. (It was only cheap). I'll keep you posted.

Fingers and paws are all crossed that the vet comes back with some good news for you. What a worrying time it must be. We're all thinking about you.

Big hugs to Max and Millie.

Been back to the vets today. Apparently the FIP test goes to Whitby, and not Glasgow University. It was really busy in there and I didn't get very far but the nurse at the desk didn't know about the lump I showed her so said it was best if I spoke to the vet when he rang about the results.

So I'll just have to wait for the phone call in a day or two...

I'm sorry if this is turning into a bit of a blog, but I know you all care, and I'm very grateful. I hope you don't mind!
