Hi! I am new to this board, and new to the world of bengals. I have 2 mixed breed cats I got while in the military stationed in Turkey and I am pretty sure they are part bengal. They have the spots and stripes, yet they are mixed because they have white chests and some white elsewhere. I am not sure if they possess many of the typical bengal characteristics but I love them to pieces...enough to where I shipped them back to the states with me! They are 9 years old now. Today, I purchased a purebred bengal. He is a DOLLBABY! He is not ready to come home with me until May 21st. I am not really nervous about anything, but the fact that I will be travelling quite a bit the first couple of weeks I'll have him. My husband and son will be around, so he'll be well taken care of, but I'm scared I won't have sufficient bonding time with him. In the meantime I will be going to visit him, but I will be gone next week, back for the weekend, then gone the following week, back a week, then gone the first 2 weeks in June. All this travel is for my job. After that Jun trip the travelling will be finished. I won't be travelling frequently, but this is a new job so I have had some training courses to go to. Do you think this will significantly affect my bonding with my baby kitty?? Thanks!

Welcome to the forum and to the crazy world of bengals.

I don't think its going to be a issue. You will have lots of time to bond with him when you get back.

So... when are we going to see photos of your furbabies???

Well, since I have to leave next Monday, I plan on going over to visit him the next couple of days. I'll take pix then. I'll post pix of my older furbabies at the same time! :) The mom of my new furbaby is a snow. I saw the father and he's not a snow, but I didn't think to ask what he was. I will take another look when I go back. New kitty, I am naming Leonitus, already is getting his fuzzies, but you can still see his markings. I fell in love with his face, and the fact he was the largest, and most rambunctious one! I love a challenge..and somehow I think I'm gonna get it! :)

hi there & welcome to the forum :D

rambunctious...there's a word you don't hear so often, i love it!

hopefully you will be fine with your little chap...he may take a little longer to get used to you than your other family members, but i'm sure once you are home & settled you will bond. give him lots of one-on-one attention, play & treats...he'll soon know you're one of the good guys

look forward to seeing piccies :D

Hi and welcome here :D

Just a thing, I pretty much doubt you'd find 2 stray half bengal in Turckey... ;)
Probably "only" 2 brown spotted tabby cats like my Onyx, which is a natural pattern of the DSH, no need of Bengal ancestry for that ;).

Thanks for all your replies. I am very excited and I don't even want to travel now because I'll be leaving my new baby! :) It's just like when you leave a real baby for the first time!

As far as me thinking my cats could be part bengal, you're probably right, but I was on a military compound and thought maybe someone had a bengal that got out! You are probably right though and it doesn't matter anyway because I love them bunches anyway!! :D
