That's good. It's nice that they are sociable, but just like children, you don't want them totally trusting strangers. My kitten's mantra is "No Fear" and more so with every passing day now. We've "catifyied" our house as much as possible, but you know the old saying, curiosity can kill. She is discovering how amazing her claws are, maybe to the point of being over-confident. She even runs, jumps, and try's to claw air in spread eagle fashion. I'm worried if I cut her nails she will lose her "spider-woman" skills and wipe out into something. She is very entertaining to watch and interact with, however I'm waiting (and worrying) at what point does her overconfidence meet her point of incompetence! I'm a scratched up mess from her sharp claws, but that is my fault. She is totally gentle (most of the time) with my wife. My wife can pick her up and she just surrenders in her arms. If I do that, she cries and brings out the cutlery!
I was recently told a very sad story of an adolescent cat that ran full speed into the edge of a glass coffee table. The glass was smooth and a half an inch thick. The cat died of severe head trauma within a few agonizing minutes. I don't ever want to witness anything like that. I guess its good to be scared for kitty's safety, somebody has to!
