Hi, I'll start by saying I am a registered Bengal breeder, but I am still new to it all. My cattery is called Mountainside Bengals.... So the issue I am having is with one of my queens. I got her in Feb 2015, she was already a year old at the time. She got pregnant by our stud in April 2015 and had her first litter that June. Since then I don't know if she has been back in heat. She doesn't show any of the tell tell signs, such as calling or going outside of her box. She is with our other spayed female and our stud all the time. I assumed since I couldn't tell when she was in heat that nature would just take it's course if I left her with the stud all of the time. Is this wrong? Is she not going into heat or getting pregnant because of the fact they are always together?

Heat cycles vary in females. Most female cycles will end in September and start again in January. So, it's possible she will come into heat shortly. It's Mother Nature that decides this and kittens are not born in the winter time. A mating in January will produce kittens in March which is ideal (in most locations). I hope you have a breeder who is mentoring you. This is really important. Wherever you got your queen from ... contact them with any questions. Most good breeders are happy to help. On the other hand, breeding should not be "learn as you go." Research and reading a million books on breeding would help to answer any questions you have. Find out from your breeder if it is common to keep all the cats together the way you have them.

If the temperature is warm year round, outdoor kittens can be born at any time. Breeders with climate control may have queens that come into heat and have kittens in the winter time. It's just not the norm! But it does happen.

When I went to pick my guys up, the breeder had a litter from another female - 7 kittens only 5 days old, born Dec 23rd, and thats in one of the colder parts of Spain. Of course they are not outdoor cats..
