In a couple of days I will be bringing home my new snow bengal boy. He is 5 months old.

My other cat is a moggie, and he will be my first Bengal cat.

The breeder currently has him eating chicken necks as main meals 3 times a day, and has Royal Canin Kitten dry food topped up throughout the day.

As she has started him on a raw diet, I would like to continue. I asked the breeder if I would continue feeding the chicken necks into his adulthood, and she said yes. She said I can also add raw beef chunks a couple times a week, chopped up chicken hearts once a week, cooked egg yolk once a week and Snappy Tom canned fish as a treat.

I have never fed raw, so I am just wondering, does anyone feed mainly chicken necks, or a combination of these foods?

I know feeding raw can be difficult as you need to make sure the cat’s diet is well balanced with nutrients.

Any help would be appreciated :)

There is a topic under the Nutrition section of the forum! You need to make sure your new arrival gets all the nutrition required of a kitten. Feeding raw is great, but there must be enough vitamin and taurine to ensure the kitten's health. They say chomping on chicken necks is a good thing and strengthen's the jaw. Remember, the breeder only has the kittens a few weeks after they are weaned from their mom. Be sure to read up on the raw diet so you understand completely what it entails. Usually, it's feeding the entire chicken including the liver and heart. I know Jax on here is getting a whole recipe that the owner mixed up and put in individual containers to freeze.

That being said, there is nothing wrong with feeding your bengal a high quality wet food. Your moggie may not like a raw diet and it can be cumbersome trying to feed two cats two different diets. But it's up to you and what you think is best for your kitties.

A raw diet must be balanced. To feed a diet consisting solely of chicken necks is a problem. Primarily, there is too much bone which will result in constipation. The raw feeding topic here is good. There is also a Facebook group, Cat CRAP that is full of great resources and resource people. Raw feeding does not need to be complicated and is a great way to have an An uber-healthy cat.
