My litle girl Kia went to the vet this morning to get spayed! I couldn't sleep last night, I was feeling so bad for her. This morning she was playing happily, and then she suddenly put in her carrier and taken away. I felt really awful, I wish I could have explained to her what will happen to her, they are so precious and they don't deserve to be so frightened! I am so nervous, every minute is like an hour.

I hope she will be okay! I remember that queenb had her babies done a few weeks ago, oh my god, how did you handle it?

I have taken a few days off work, so I can watch her when she comes home.

I have a few questions, how long does it take for her to feel better and able to eat? should I let her run around with the other cats once she is feeling better or should I just put her in a room for a few days? And what should I look for to make sure her stiches are healing fine?

When i had my girls done they say to not let them climb or jump but i fine that totally impossible.

Mine have just eaten and acted like normal from the minute they walk back in apart from being very tired.

Dont worry too much hun. She will be fine and ready for a cuddle when you pick her up

I was exactly the same as you........in fact i nearly started crying when i left my little girl at the vets. But she'll be find & will give you lots of snuggles when you bring her home..............try not to worry..........by tomorrow she'll be jumping about again xx

I had all three of mine done together just before Christmas. Like you I worried about them, but they were all absolutely fine and recovered within hours - Daisy was even jumping on the top of the wardrobe in the evening! Lily took a little longer to recover - she was a bit lethargic for 24 hours but it was just the effect of the anaesthetic.

All mine had internal stitches which you couldn't see from the outside, apart from a knot at the end. It meant they couldn't pull them out which I had been concerned about. They dissolved within a week or so and the fur is now growing back nicely.

I know it's a worrying time but animals are great healers so try not to worry too much!

Aww, don't worry! Kia will be fine, maybe a little sleepy for 24 hours but she will be back to madness in no time

Her stitches should be fine too, just keep an eye that she doesn't pick at them; normally they heal very quickly

Kia is home now! The vet and the nurses were very impressed with her, and called her bright as a button and the vet said if we don't pick her up by 5pm she will take her home, because she is so beautiful.
She is my little angel, we picked her up from the vet before 5pm , and she is home now, it's so unreal, but she is walking around like nothing happened to her, she is so awake, but she is still attacking her stitches, so I need to stop that somehow.
She has to go back on Saturday for a check-up and on next Saturday they will take her stitches out.

i'm so glad it all went well, it's usually quite straight forward but us soppy humans can't help but worry where our babies are concerned

kia's a lucky girl to have you doting on her if she keeps trying to pull at the stitches, it's worth asking the vet for a plastic collar as otherwise the wound could get infected. they don't like the collars but you know it's for their own good & it's not for too long

its amazing how hardy animals are and you will probably find she will not act any diferently tomorrow and will just take it in her stride i think its us that feel it more but glad it worked out fine for you
