Tabatha, I'm not too sure how they will react when they meet face to face. Lirael is more of a scaredy cat and ill run off with bushy tail and hair sticking up. Lars on the other hand I think wants to be friends as he did trot after one of the cats up to the end of the garden, but thank goodness couldn't climb up the fence, bless!
Sherry, they do say bengals are great for clicker training, but i just think they are way to clever and belligerent! We have tried harnesses and when we first took them into the garden they wore them and pulled us around the garden!I would like to take them out walking the neighbourhood but we have a park at the end of the road and I am afraid what would happen if we happened upon a dog off the leish.
Back to the litter box issue, we tried another litter tray with newspaper in it as we put newspaper down on the carpet and he still went on that occasionally. As soon as I put in 'Clean Paws' litter he used the box; this was until Lirael started using it as well and then he went on the carpet next to the litter box!! We have changed the boxes as initially we had 2 covered boxes, now we have 1 covered box and 2 uncovered all with 'clean paws' in, Lirael is still peeing standing up occasionally so I cut the top of one of the lids so we have one with high sides as she peed on the curtain that is next to the box! I have also bought 'puppy pee pads' underneath the open boxes incase she pees over the edge. So far since Saturday we haven't had any 'accidents' but I am still keeping my fingers crossed.
I'm not sure why Lirael is marking so much, She often pees standing up, but not all the time, she constantly bunts us, Lars, kitchen utensils, work surfaces, the hall carpet etc, she scratches a lot. We have feliway diffuser but that hasn't reduced this behaviour. Hopefully now the litter box issue is under control *crosses fingers*, but I am sure Lirael marking is what lead him to first going outside the box. if this doesn't work not really sure what will as we are unable to put his litter box anywhere she won't get to it as she is much smaller and more agile than him!
