I purchased 2 bengal kittens i got home yesterday. 1 of the 2 I have not seen use the bathroom at all in 24hrs since I got him. He cries a lot walking around seemingly looking for a place to go, going behind the TV stand, behind/in plants....
I have him confined to living area and 2 litter boxes of the same litter the breeder used.
He is eating and drinking fine.
Any idea what may be wrong or how to assist him to go?

Are you using the same type of litter and litter tray as this kitten is used to? If not, then you need to try and get this.

Hopefully this kitten will see the other kitten using the tray and soon catch on x

I'm sure it's the stress of a new environment, new smells, new people. Cats behave differently. I would definitely give it another 24 hours -- as long as the cat is eating properly. A trip to vet if the cat isn't and hasn't gone to the bathroom by then. You may need to inspect all areas where the cat has been just to make sure the kitty has not gone outside the box.

You should be able to contact the breeder and have them answer any questions you have. But, you'll need patience in getting these kitties adjusted to a new home. Hang in there ... the fun is just beginning.

Yes I found out I am not using same litter as breeder since I bought wrong one.
But last night, after a big freak out of him running around for a minute, he jumped into my huge tree planter and exploded lol. Must have been backed up cause there was a lot for a little kitten. But since then i put his litter box next to tree and he used it himself after that.
I agree, think it was the stress of the move. Also of meeting a new cat and new home. Glad he is feeling better!
Thanks folks.

Oh bless him, I'm sure he was just a little overwhelmed and confused with everything! He'll be fine now though I'm sure. Our two took a while to use their litter tray as well and we were given litter by the breeder to mix in with what we had already bought as we also bought the wrong one. Sounds like they are settling in really well and everything is headed in the right direction!

Thank goodness, it all finally came out -- even though it was in the wrong spot! But happy to hear that he has since used the litter box. You are on your way now. Congratulations and just enjoy the heck out of them.

I'm glad you're now sorted and the worry is over for you!

We just bought our four Bengal boys home last night, but one thing we did do early on, once they had explored ouside of their travelling cage, was one by one we picked each up, and placed them into the covered litter tray with the lid/flap open, then let them make their own way out before putting the next one in. Titan was the only one who didn't 'circle' around before his exit, and none of them went while they were inside once we'd placed them there, but each knew where the litter box was, what it looked/smelled like.

When I checked last night it had been used once, and upon checking this morning it had been used several times. Now the lid/flap has been lowered, and the box moved to it's final resting place, next to the second, identical one, I'm quietly confident they will continue as intended.

Hope this may help someone in the future!
