Hey guys,

My 8 month old bengal decided to urinate on my moms couch last week. I purchased nature's miracle just for cats and i think it made it worst...the stains on the couch cushions were mostly gone, but an outer lining stained from the product. I also sprayed the couch inside where the cushions come out, and it stained it completely brown...the smell is still there, and the stain is there and even worst. Is there a better product out there to get the rest of the smell out, and any way the stains from the product can be removed?

Thanks for the help

I hope you followed the instructions to the T! I honestly have never had a problem with urine outside the litter box. I'm sure there are numerous products out there. You should always test a fabric first just to make sure there will not be a stain!

There are different formulations for Nature's Miracle, one of them claims to remove stains, but the others are just for cleaning up (neutralizing) urine. Are you sure you used the stain remover one? For the times when I've had to use it, I've not worried about stains, just wanted to clean up the urine, so I don't have any experience with that stain removing. But my guess is that you may have to do it in two parts. Nature's miracle to neutralize the pee and get rid of the smell, and then something different (one of the "traditional", non-pet specific cleaners) for the stain. That's my guess.

Yea it says stain and odor. The stains on the cushions are for the most part out, but created a stain on the actual couch. The smell of the urine is still present, though not as bad.

In my experience it sometimes takes several applications to completely get the smell out. As for the stain, if you're in the US, there's a product called Folex that works great. I buy it in a gallon jug at Lowe's or Home Depot.

Vinegar will also neutralize the odor but then you have to smell vinegar for several days while it dries and dissipates.
