My Bengal Maya is 1year 7months old, she's my little bundle of joy. My bengal has had diarrhea now for the last week, she has been to the vet who prescribed a probiotic which seems to be doing nothing, she's been on it for 2 days.

Both my cats go outside but only when I'm home, and they both have a bedtime of 10.30pm. So they are usually inside and in bed by 11pm. I have decided to consider changing Maya's diet as I have no idea what is causing this diarhea, her poo is green and runny and very smelly. But she's lively, eating healthy and a normal weight.

I would appreciate it if anyone had ideas what this could be, most of the diarrhea symptoms I have read online don't seem to fit hers, she's not vomiting, she's not lethargic and drinks plenty of water...

She eats Royal Cannin sensitive biscuits and has a small wet meal in the evening (gourmet)

Appreciate it if anyone could share any similar experiences.

Well, if the medication isn't working, then it's treating the wrong cause. Since your cats go outside, they could get into anything out there. I take Raiden for walks and I'll catch him licking concrete! YUK! He also loves to eat grass. I'm guessing you took a stool sample to the vet. I've been there with Raiden and the vet ran several tests and knew exactly what the problem was and prescribed antibiotics that cured the problem. He never vomited either. Cats can get bad bacteria in their digestive system and they need to check for parasites as well.

If the problem is continuing, I'd recommend finding another vet. You want one that can diagnose these problems and one who has bengal patients as well. Good luck!

Sounds like an underlying bug which more than likely might need a kick of anti biotics

Anytime your Bengal, or any other cat for that matter, is experiencing diarrhea that is lasting more than a day the vet’s office should do a fecal culture and check for parasites. Bengals are prone to Giardia, which my cat experienced around the same age. They treat it with a round of antibiotics. I agree with changing vets if they did not do a fecal culture, especially if you have other cats. Parasites are very contagious and can even be passed on to humans. I would be careful changing their litter box until you know what is going on.
