Hello all

I was wondering if anyone knows/heard of naturesmenu.co.uk and would it be safe to buy this for my new kittens or would they benefit more from me personally knocking up batches of raw meals for them?
I'm new to the idea of a raw diet but I am all for trying it if my little cats will benefit regardless cost and energy.
Seems a bit daunting to me so far bones grinders what meats etc
Any advice guidelines recipes links to where I can get all that's needed for a newbie in this field I would be hugely appreciative :p

I use the Natures Menu raw food.

In my opinion, raw feeding is complicated and i am not confident that i can do it all myself. So i choose to use a pet made complete raw food.

I will say that the Natures Menu is easy to use, comes in little nuggets which is perfect for a single cat or kitten... or even a couple as you can take out as many of the nuggets as you will need. With otehr raw diets it is a larger amount so there can be wastage.

Negative side, it is quite bland and is actually fairly soft when it's defrosted. Mine tend to prefer more meaty raw, but i have several cats to eat it so not as much wastage.

I also buy Natural Instincts raw. This is in tubs and so there is more wastage. However, i defrost in the fridge which can take around 36 hours to fully defrost. So i think you might use it all within 2 days of it defrosting if you use the defrosted bits first....

I use Natural Instincts, but I cut it up into slices with a bread knife and pack it back into the cartons. I recommend doing that before putting it in your freezer as it's hard work when it's hard-frozen. But I have no wastage at all. It keeps up to four days in the fridge; I tend to defrost two days' worth at a time.

Ruby had been introduced to raw food by her breeder, so it was natural to continue. The kitten weening paste is her staple, but I mix it with adult varieties and a little water. She has about 60% raw and the rest is pouches and dry. She's coming up to 20 weeks old, now.

Thanks everyone for the input I feel more confident going ahead and ordering a load now :) will see how the boys get on with it!

If you are placing an order online with natures menu, am moly cats love the freeze dried treats. Sometimes I rumble some onto food if they are being picky.
