We got 2 bengals about 7 years ago, a boy and girl. They started off fine and the girl has never been any problems. They boy as a kitten had diarrhea but that issue was solved after a few months and has been fine since. However, the boy has also had weeing issues. It started out with him just weeing on things that he did not like the smell of but has escalated to him weeing all over the room where his litter box is kept and recently in the kitchen. He has always been a little unstable and introducing Burmese kitten 3 years ago probably has not helped. he has been checked by the vet for any urinary issues and he is fine. He has been put on medication to help calm his mood and that didn't help. We have tried so many different cleaners and clean his tray regularly but nothing is helping. If anything he is getting worse. It is getting to the point where he is ruining the home and we are looking into rehoming even though we do not want him to go. We just can't find a solution.

Does anyone have any advice?

This seems to be the #1 problem with kitties. There is a reason he's no longer using the litterbox. There's something about it that he no longer likes. New cat litter? Different type of box? Box is now too small for him? It was moved into a new area? He has to share it with other cats? Did he have a terrifying experience with maybe another one of the cats interrupting him while he was going in the box?

Since you have multiple cats, the rule of thumb is one box per cat plus one extra. Yes, if you have 4 cats, you need 5 boxes. Is that excessive? Probably! Also, if you have a multi-level home, you need boxes on each floor.

You've had him checked out, so there appear to be no medical issues! So, you need to find a way to lure him back to using the litter box. Make sure you completely clean the areas where he has peed. Pick up clothes and things -- keep the area clean from things he may want to urinate on. There is a type of litter called "Cat Attract."

If the medication you are giving him isn't working, I'd stop using it. You can always try Feliway which is supposed to calm cats and alleviate stress and you don't have to give it to them -- it plugs into the wall.

I'm no cat behaviorist, but it seems to me he's not liking having other cats in the household. I'm sensing they are stressing him out and unless you're around 24/7 and keeping an eye on the kitties, you're not going to know if something is (or has) going on. You may want to contact a bengal rescue group and see if they would take him. It appears he needs a home without other animals. It's sad, but we sometimes have to do what is best for not just us, but for the kitty too.

I hope you will try a few other things first before you give up on him, but he deserves a stress-free environment for his own happiness, too -- and so do you. Good luck.

There's a difference between him just relieving himself outside the litterbox and him marking territory, so it would be helpful to try to distinguish between the two if you can. If he's marking because of stress, you might want to talk to a cat behaviorist (I think this sort of problem is probably their most common thing to sort out) or do some reading on this sort of thing.

This may sound funny, but that tv series "My Cat From Hell" actually has quite a few episodes which documents this sort of problem and their solutions to it. Which generally consists of "cat-ifying" the house, playing more with the cat (these two things give the cat more confidence and reduce stress, minimizing the need to mark), clearing up any related medical issues, and providing more litterboxes in "socially significant" places in the house where *he* wants to go.

Probably the very easiest thing to try first would be to add a few more litterboxes and put them in places where he wees inappropriately, and observe if that helps or not. Also observe if it's a case of him "rejecting" his box (going up to it, sniffing around, and deciding not to use it) or if it's just that he feels insecure and needs to claim some space by marking. I definitely wouldn't give up on this yet.
