Jonesy, 9 month old neutered male, has always been a chewing, biting kinda dude. Mostly his toys, blankets, cardboard scratcher etc. His sister Ripley isn't so into it. He's having a period of lots of heavy chewing, and on lots of different stuff. Our bedding and slippers are now on his list. It's possible he is teething, though he's always been keen on it. Fortunately, he doesn't chew up anything and eat it, except for the odd little bit of cardboard, so no worries there.

Could I get him some dog chew toys? I have seen pigs ears for dogs too. Would there be any harm in trying any of these? I have never had a dog so don't know what ingredients are used - and if any of them might be a problem for a Bengal. Any experience or advice would be appreciated.

You can buy chicken and ham flavoured Nylabones which some Bengals have chewed on quite happily. I know someone on here has used pigs ears for their Bengal - just make sure they're not dried after being dipped in salty gravy...

I would guess some dog chews may be too hard and tough for Bengal teeth especially young Bengal teeth.
Although cats in the wild would chew through birds and mice including the bones, that is a lot different and more crunchy in reality than a hard dog chew or bone or bone substitute.
You could end up doing damage to the teeth.

My bengal loves to steal the dogs chew hooves. I don't see a problem with it.

:whistle3: Take a look at the Nylabone range - They do 'Puppybones' and all sorts of soft chew toys. You don't have to buy the hard nylon ones....

I have a moggie who LOVES "Greenies" dog chews. I haven't bought any for him in a while but I'm going to pick some up this weekend and see if Diesel will use them too. He's been chewing on my fingers lately which is a new thing for him.
