Breeders have a lot of cats, new cats are introduced fairly often, some possibly are outside, etc. Mites and other parasites are possible and difficult to eradicate. I am not justifying your little guy having mites, but realize that any time you are dealing with a breeder (or pet store or foster home) there is a decent chance there are a critter or two lurking around the place with that many animals around. It only takes one to infect everyone.
Mites aren't terrible to take care of. Drops and ear cleanings take care of them. I don't see any eye discharge. He looks like a healthy, handsome little guy to me! :)
