I noticed some bald patches on the backs of Daisy's legs, it's on the joint and on both legs. But worse on the one I took the pic off.


Anyone got any ideas as to what this could be??

Don't know if it's worth noting she had problems opening her left eye the other day, checked her over and nothing obvious. No redness or inflammation.

The best thing may be to Google "bald spot cat" and read up on skin problems cats can develop. There's a host of different things that could cause this.

Sorry to be thick - but is it your cat that has the twitching problems? if so is this Daisy - I should really have looked into your posts before posting...


ETA right scrap that its your other cat with the twitching. Only reason I asked is that nibbling fur could be a symptom of the issues she has. But as its not the right cat.....

Right ....here's my thought, anal glands. She has been having runny poop has she not? Problem can arise with anal glands filling and not naturally emptying because of no solid poop pressing on them enough to do so. In turn they can get irritated/infected and the animal will nibble at the back legs.

Have a look at her bum and see if around the opening to her anus there is any swelling redness etc - keep an eye on the nibbling, but if it continues/gets worse etc...pop her to the vet for a check over.

My Evo has these - as there is no inflammation, no redness (unlike when he overgrooms the inside of his legs) I've just put these down to bald spots where the fur has rubbed off.

Both of mine have the same on both legs. The do a lot of jumping and tearing around, and we have hardwood flooring in many rooms, so I attributed it to just fur wearing off.

BB had them as a kitten but it seems her fur has grown back, Jasper still has them tho! I think it's to do with their level of activity and Jasper is also overweight so I assume more pressure/friction when he plays! Another thought, does Daisy ever rabbit kick scratching poles?

Merlin has these in varying degrees depending on his level of activity. I have put it down to being the 'heel pad' and the constant rubbing when he's jumping about. Never given him any problems, and nothing I worry about...
