Hi, just need some advice on what to feed Lily.

She always has dry food down and I was told to feed her 2-3 little tubs of wet food per day.
we bought her 33 tubs of Sheba the day we got her (our mistake) and was told to avoid whiskas and any cheaper food brands.
I've tried lily on Sheba and it makes her sick, literally - we have a nice £500 vet bill from her getting so sick from Sheba she did not drink or eat, ended up dehydrated and in the vets (for two days) the first week we got her. Obviously, she can not eat this food as she has some kind of intolerance or allergy to it. The problem I face, is what other foods are deemed suitable/unsuitable?

I've tried her on all other foods too and she will eat most dry foods but only eats felix wet food.
Would it be best to keep trying her on more expensive brands? I am worried for her weight and growth if we have a kind of stand off about this where I try to force feed her and she continues to refuse to eat anything but Felix.

She has tried other expensive brands (one from germany and a couple of other tuna based ones) but again always leaves it to go stale and ignores her food dish.

My concern is for her long and short term health and if the food has damaging additives.
Obviously I avoid whiskas but is Felix something to avoid too? Felix is part of the Purina brand if that makes any difference and their dry food (go cat) is what Lily has been eating since running out of the food we were given for her.

I am intending to buy her raw meats such as chicken and bones to chew as she is teething. Is this a bad idea?

Cats are finicky eaters, period. You'll have to find something your kitty enjoys eating because a cat who doesn't eat will eventually starve to death. I have tried "okay, if you don't eat this, you get nothing" and your cat looks up with you with this cute, pouty eyes, and you break down and throw the food out and open something else. Every cat seems to be different in what they enjoy eating and what foods they can tolerate.

Felix is no different from whiskas in times of quality really. Same as Friskies, Gourmet, Sheba etc... they all have around 4% meat content and are full of sugar.

She probably didn't tolerate Sheba for a couple of reasons, it is very rich for a kitten plus a new food to her so a poor choice in hindsight. It is best to keep them on the breeder food for the first couple of weeks to let them settle.

Then you can try new food, tiny bit at a time. If you want her on a better meat content wet food then you may need to mix Felix in with it as the sugary Felix is a bit addictive. Would you rather a cream cake or a fruit salad? That's kind of the difference in some ways of Felix and High Life... that said, plenty of cats have thrived on Felix and the like.

Foods like Appplaws, Encore and Almo Nature are not complete wet foods, so be mindful of these and only give as a treat (less than 20% daily food intake).

When it comes to dry food, my picky Bengal seems to like Purina Smart Blend Chicken and Rice.

Bengals are very picky about food, at least toffee is. Which food one day for him is lovely, the next day he will turn his nose up at. Dry, wet, treats, everything. Not much help but we have to change the food every box. In the summer he will only eat 2-3 pouches a day, if that. Then in the winter he will pile the pounds on and would eat 5-6 if we let him!

You need to pick up just one can of a certain food and see if Lily likes it. Mine goes through stages where he will refuse to eat something and then I can introduce it again a few weeks later and he's fine with it. I've got a lot of food that he refuses to eat, but I'll mix it with something else and he'll eventually eat it. Cats are definitely finicky eaters.
