The last three mornings I have woke up and found vomit. It is undigested food and a watery substance, I am not sure who it is coming from though. What causes tem to throw up food? I am almost positive it's Jasper, he eats a lot more than BB and she eats very slow! The food is not even chewed up! Could they be eating to much? I feed the recommended about for their weight! I am just worried  They both have an appointment with a specialist in a couple of weeks, should I take him to see out regular vet before then?

In my experience some cats vomit. I would be more concerned if the food was partly digested in some ways, or if it smells really bad.

I did have issues with Pip and Lily vomiting for a bit. They would vomit cat food but not a raw food. In the end I took them to the vets. They were assessed as being healthy though. They tried an antacid type medication with little effect. Eventually I asked for further tests and blood was taken. Everything was normal except a very slightly elevated something (can't remember what) that the vet said could possibly indicate an allergy but it was so slight she was not convinced. She advised I tried a food without chicken as that is very high on a cats allergy lists. Not an easy task but I managed and it did get a little better for a while before getting worse again. I popped them back on the old food as well as raw and they were fine...... Not exactly sure what it was really.

Every now and then there is the odd vomit but with 5 adult cats it's not always possible to say who it was.

You said they were moulting lots, could someone be trying to get up a fur ball but just making the self sick instead? Maybe try some fur ball paste??

Could they be eating too quickly because they were hungry in the morning and it makes them sick? I read that acid can build up when they get hungry and this can lead to vomiting, often a problem with food obsessed cats that get worried or stressed about their next meal.

I kind of would wait and talk to the vet when you go unless the vomiting happens more times a day.....

They are both shedding really bad!! I feel like I am swimming in cat fur! I have some laxatone so I will start giving them that. I didn't think anything about a hair ball.

The food is not digested at all, and it looks like water with it. Jasper likes to eat a few bites and drink half a bowl of water  he is probably getting to much. I am almost positive it's him, he has started sleeping with my son for some odd reason and it has been in his room two out of three times. I will just keep an eye on it and give them the laxatone! They would eat the whole tube if I would let them so that certainly will not be a problem! Thanks lollo! I was a bit worried it could be a sign of more problems!

My parent's cat is often sick as she eats really quickly at times and then throws it up still pretty much whole. She has been to the vets several times to check up on it but is always signed off as being perfectly healthy and the vet has said not to worry unless it escalates to every meal or several times a day. We changed her food to a sensitive stomach type food and she has been a lot better since, only being sick on a rare occasion.

It can also be linked to allergies so perhaps it is worth trying a different type of food to see if that reduces the problem?

Benji throws up if I give him a whole pouch at once as he bolts it all!

I now only give him half a pouch at a time and he is fine, just a guts!

I will start cutting his food into smaller portions! I always feed them before I do to bed at night. Maybe I am feeding them to late and he is more hungry at night than in the morning. He does eat fast, I have even turned his bowl upside down so he has to eat around the middle of it! I know that might sound terrible, but that is what the vet suggested when my pups would eat to fast. I will monitor him more and start looking at different foods! I don't want to change him until I find out what is going on with is tummy now! He has actually started eating BB's dry food more and only licking the gravy from wet. I don't know what is going on with him because he is usually a wet food fanatic!

I had a cat who inhaled his food and frequently would vomit it up within minutes. My Bengal will occasionally vomit, but it's usually after he's eaten grass and there's usually just some liquid that comes up with it. He's a slow eater, so normally doesn't have a problem.

As you know I've had the same problem with Lilly since changing her food she's stopped, it was the allergies to her food that was causing it. But it was happening 3 or so times a day. I knew because of all the biscuits that where undigested appearing in various places of the house.

I gave both of them laxatone yeaterday afternoon. This morning I was cooking breakfast and of course Jasper was sitting at my feet telling me about his adventurous night( maybe? He was telling me what was about to happen) and he started coughing/ heaving and up came his breakfast with a pretty good size hair ball!! I have never had cats before BB and Jasper so I have never experienced the "hairball routine" I have to admit I was a little startled  BB has never had them before but her coat is a lot tighter than Jasper's, maybe that makes a difference!

I called the vets and they are going to do their regular check up, test for TF and other parasites(on both) and also do allergy test! What is involved with allergy test? I have been though that with my human kids but not my furry ones.

Allergy tests are done by taking blood and aren't always completely reliable tbh

Is it only in the morning he is doing it? - I would expect if he had an allergy making him throw up food the time of day it happens would have no real consistency (unless you are only feeding a certain type of food at one certain time of day that co-insides with the vom-ing)

I know if I eat Mango my tongue swells up there and then lol

If I understood the tech correctly they are going to do the parasite testing first, if that is normal they will do the allergy test on a follow up visit! I honestly think it was from the hairball an the laxatone just helped it come up. He gets the same food morning and night, but with different flavors! I don't give the same ones everyday or every morning, it is changed up every other day. Even tho he only licks the gravy off and then eats the dry.

Has he thrown up since the big hairball or does that seem to have cleared it?
