Ok, I have a seriously unhappy bengal. She is literally going mad to go outside.

Before people think just meowing, I'll show some pictures. This is the hole she gouged out of the bottom of my door....

And this is what happens when she repeated slammed the cat flap over a period of days.

After the second one, she escaped out. Which is bad news as she isn't meant to be out at all right now (cut on her leg, needs time to heal). Walking on a lead isn't an option because of infection, any other ideas?

oo she's naughty! My boys have done a similar thing to the stud wall beside my bedroom door.
Whilst she cant be outside I would be covering the door with something - cupboard? I know it might be a pain but it will save your door. I'd consider annoying her further by trimming her claws so she cant do so much damage again.

Can you carry her outside or would she squirm too much? what does she do? eat the grass? maybe bring some in for her? Could she be outside on a blanket from the house to stop anything going in her leg? I'm not sure how serious her infection is (sorry if i've missed a post somewhere)

Obviously it's been stitched up, but she's not meant to be too active or go out at all. Easier said than done - I didn't even realise she'd done it immediately as she ran into the house showing no signs of distress.

In summer the cats go out at least daily, but not always for long as I'm outside when they are to ensure they don't escape outside the immediate environment. They have run of 5 gardens, but problems arise when people leave their back doors open and the cats get to other places. It's too communal a space to cat proof my individual garden (I only have rights to one side).

I've got the weatherstripping at the bottom of my back door torn off thanks to my Bengal. I wish I could say he's getting better at not wanting to go outside. We do walk each day with a harness and leash and he does have his outdoor enclosure. My main goal is to keep him safe. His arch enemy only lives three doors down and they would fight constantly. They let their cat roam free, so I have to contain mine. I hate listening to Raiden howl at the top of his lungs, but our walks are at certain times and that's that. I hate to hear you say that a leash is out of the question. Raiden's previous owner said he tried to leash train him early on and couldn't. I put a harness on him and he was fine with it in two minutes and we went for our first walk. Now he just loves walking on a leash. That leg injury looks nasty .... I hope it heals okay. So many dangers to just let a cat roam free, even though that's what they want. They aren't aware of the dangers. I can't say it gets better with time, but I know I'm doing what's right to protect him. He's used up four of his nine lives already.

A bit of timber (ply?) across the bottom of the door frame would work - Just make sure it is too tall for her to stand up and pull it over - Duct tape to the door as well, so she can't hook the side. I do this to barricade Merlin in when he is not allowed out, and it works great! - In the summer, when I need the door open, I use two baby stair gates, one on top of the other, and just fill in the 16" gap at the top with a plastic panel. (He tried to jump out over the two gates from the kitchen unit once!)

Looks nasty - Is she an antibiotics as well? Fingers crossed for a quick healing process

Thanks. She was on antibiotics, but they've finished now. The vet says the wound is healing nicely. Has given me Zylkene to try and reduce her stress levels.
