I didn't know what rock melon was.... It's called cantaloupe in the UK apparently. Tobyloves all melon... Not sure why.

Eating human foods is not really what PICA is... If they chewed and ate every soft cloth, rug, towel you left out then it would be PICA. Odd occasional stuff, not PICA.

it sounds to me like they are simply hungry. Why wont you leave them more wet food out ? How many times do you feed them a day?

I know from personal experience that taking dry food away can cause behavior problems! When we first got Jasper he was on dry food through out the day and was fed raw morning and night. Since we have had them I started with feeding him the same(except gave can instead of raw) and kept it that way for about a month. After that I started to feed less dry and more wet. The first week that he was dry free he was a TOTAL ASS to BB! I know sorry for the language but it is the only work I could use to describe him!!!! He was horrible and nothing short of a true butt! He attacked BB often, was grumpy with me! I actually had to reintroduce them during this time! Normally when I first wake up he jumps on the counter to kiss(head butt) me! Not when he didn't have dry food!!!!! I think that could have a lot to do with what is going on! If you don't want to leave the dry food out, do what Lollo suggested and get a treat dispenser ACTUALLY get two so they will have their own! I would also recommend that you feed them some time during the day if possible! I know Jasper is a food whore and will do ANYTHING for food! If he doesn't have it he is grumpy! I am actually trying to cut him back now because he has gained 7 pounds now since I have had him! He is 14 pounds and getting a little chunky! Now that I have cut back he is getting to where he wants to beat BB up again but she will not tolerate it

Yes I tested for TF ( at least I think I did ) the vet didn't know what I was I explained it to her.. She took a poo sample and said she would test for TF, and results came back normal.

I don't think they're hungry, they used to both be quite chubby because I fed them too much so I cut down on their diet a little bit, they're at a healthy weight now.

Ill definitely get some treat dispensing toys!

I have to say some of mine will lash out if their bowls are empty - I have 3 that share a play area overnight and in the late evening I know if their food is low as I hear it ramping up out there

Is it not worth accepting that you may be wrong and just give them some extra food to see if it helps?

Benji is an absolute pain in the butt if his bowl is empty and he is hungry!

Yeah I'm feeding them more of rather them be chubby and happy. I used to feed them a tin of tuna morning and night and dry food in between, and occasional treats like meat or whatever scraps i have that is ok for them to eat.

They go outside and run around the backyard 3-4 times a week, and always am playing with them with their toys so I don't think they're lazy at all and that's why they were chubby, I was probably over feeding them cause there too damn cute to refuse

Someone will correct me if I'm wrong but generally tuna isn't recommended for regular daily consumption for humans, there are lots of scientific reports out there on the reasons why it may or may not be safe but generally the larger and higher up the food chain the fish the higher the amount of toxins it will have consumed in its life. These are transferred to us when we eat them. Now I'm not about to get paranoid on it and I don't think that eating some tuna here and there (or your feline companion(s) doing so) will necessarily be a deal breaker but I would generally be cautious about making it the staple of their diet. They need a variation of food just like we do to get the essential amounts of protein, oils, salt and minerals in their diet and while hard food does a good job of trying to jam all these in (if it's a decent grain free quality) it may still be recommended to feed them other meats/fish if they're not having cat formulated wet food. Cat's are smaller then people, because of this the quality of food they eat has a more apparent effect on their well being. Humans have more space to store toxins and can carry a higher toxicity in their fat/muscle tissue before we start to notice the bad effects. I don't know about anyone else but my mood is noticeably affected when I have too much junk food or caffeine and what not and I would say cats feel it all the same. Unfortunately for them when they feel like this they can just go and eat a salad for a few days and wash it out to feel better so they start behaving abnormally instead.

Ahh tuna I don't feed them tuna every day I'm used to calling wet food tuna, bad habit, but hey eat wet food and its always different flavours like chicken or salmon or some other flavour, not always Tuna
