I was wondering what flea control everyone uses (or definitely doesn't).

I have had more scratching than I would like and I suspect there may be some critters bothering the kitties. I am looking at all my options online and am pretty overwhelmed. The last round of stuff I gave them resulted in adverse reactions...suggestions and advice would be appreciated!

I have heard that Frontline is getting less effective in some areas due to flea resistance. Cannot remember its ingredient now but it is used in other brands as well now. I have used advocate in the past as well. I don't have the need to routinely flea treat mine though so cannot help you with that.

I don't need to treat mine often but the weather hear has been really kooky. Hot and then cold and then warm, it's been driving some of the bugs inside....and I haven't been as good as I should be about taking off my gardening clothes in the basement right after coming in.

It has been so long since I treated mine and the last round sent one of the cats into a tizzy - running and crying and spasming. When I finally caught him I gave him a bath and he LET me. I knew then it must have been seriously bothering him! I may have to look for advocate and give that a shot! Thanks!

I use Revolution haven't had any bad reactions with my gang, and seems to work pretty well :).

Most defiantly use advocate.
Frontline etc does not work thanks to 'discount' stores selling cheap flea treatment which uses the same strain as frontline but its a lot weaker. Unfortunately now fleas have built up a tollerance. I bumped in to a woman at the vets who was buying more frontline cause she had a bad flea problem with her pets and couldn't understand why she wasn't able to banish them she was treating the pets with frontline and spraying the house, she has been doing this for 3-4 months with no avail. I advised her to go for advocate and told her about the frontline issue outside the vets. She even said she knew someone else who was having the same issue. I feel sorry for her cause she had spent hundreds and it wasn't solving anything. I believe there's quite a bit about the whole frontline issue on the web!

I used frontline for awhile and did notice it wasn't working that well! I only use flea preventative on our dog monthly but I LOOVVEE revoultion! Jasper had ear mites and after one treatment they were gone!! I did use a follow up treatment and have noticed since I have been using the revoultion this spring/ summer BB doesn't scratch as much as she did last summer on the frontline! Things I would avoid are "store brand " or " bargain brand" treantments, they can be dangerous!

I actually was at a meeting about Revolution recently.
Revolution works for fleas, ticks, ear mites, Round and hook worms I believe. I cant remember all the critters, but it states on the package. According to the meeting it is the one medication that works harder and longer than any of the others that are out there.

I also personally use Revolution and I have never had any critter problems.
