hiya I've not long got my self a beautiful female Bengal she about 6-7 months old I would like some advice on taking care of her like what is the best type of food to feed her and when she come into heat/call (cuz she being very noisy at the moment and I'm loosing sleep lol)and I do thy are nothing like normal house cats lol so some advice would be very nice thank you for reading and I hope to hear something soon

Where did you get your Bengal from, did the breeder/previous owner not tell you what she is fed?

1) I suggest you get her spayed. Since she is not a breeding cat, I don't see the need for her to remain unfixed, and going into heat.
That would be the best way to handle.

2) What was your breeder feeding her when she was still with them?

Yep don't leave it any longer she can be neutered now, no need to wait it will only get worse and its not fair on her to leave her!

As the others said did the breeder not give you food for the first week or two?

I hope I'm not coming across too harsh but you really should have read up on the breed a lot more before owning a Bengal. I agree 100% with the comments above about getting her spayed ASAP.

A good starter for food is Royal Canin dry food with a supplement of raw or cooked chicken as a "treat". What are you currently feeding the girl?

Hi. I free feed my boy Royal Canin Dental biscuits, but he has at least two wet meals a day - You should not just feed dry as this can cause a higher risk of UTI's which can be serious in cats. His wet food is of a high quality - at least 60% meats, and very low (if any) grain or cereal content.

A lot of people do feed raw, but my boy likes his chicken fresh-poached or his liver lightly grilled, and his King prawns only sliced to bite-sized pieces! But I'm not under the paw - honest!
