I recently moved out of my parents house to a new apartment and I'm not sure if I want to take my Bengal cat with me. Here's the situation.
I got Max when he was a kitten (he's 3 now) and since a kitten he's been partnered with my mom's Siamese cat. It took them a year to eventually get used to each other and they still have "fights" (more like Max bullying my moms cat until he submits). They rarely play with each other because my mom's Siamese cat is lazy and gets moody, but they're almost always hovering over my mom. I suspect that's because they're both constantly fighting for attention and Max also likes to beat up on mom's cat when he's laying up against me or sleeping on my moms bed at night in order to boot him out of his spot. Otherwise they do tolerate each other.
Max isn't high maintenance. I rarely have to play with him and when I get home he's all over me for about 10 minutes and then I don't see him, but he will play with me when he wants to, and he definitely loves me. I spend most of my day home on the computer so he's rarely near me, but as soon as I lay down on the couch he's right on me and will start meowing if there's anything blocking his way. Also, he sleeps on my moms bed all the time and very RARELY slept on my bed.
Also, in my parents house he had two floors and a basement, and my apartment is about a 1/3rd the size of the house. I'm on the 3rd floor and do have very big windows for him to look out of.
Now, my question is how he will tolerate being put into my new apartment? Will he be upset that he lost his buddy (which is more like his competition for my attention) and from my mother who is home almost all the time?
