My wife and I got our female bengal about two years ago. We're currently in the process of the divorce, and the cat is staying with me. The cat and I are currently staying with a friend while looking for my own place. She's doing okay, but she has gotten quite a bit more vocal lately. Part of the problem is she isn't allowed in one of the rooms, but she's a lot whinier in general.
I play with her as much as I can, but it's not easy. She was spoiled when my wife and I were together, and doesn't play on her own much. She has plenty of toys, but her favorite games involve me throwing balls or hairbands and her chasing them down. (She used to fetch, but stopped a while back.)
I've been wondering if the new circumstances will be fair to her. I'll be working fulltime, probably with a longer commute (my old commute was a matter of minutes), going to the gym, and trying to develop a new social life. Is this going to be fair to a bengal who is used to two homebodies? Would another cat help or would I better off rehoming my beloved kitty? I want to keep her, but I want to do right by her. Your opinions would be appreciated...
