It really depends on your personal situation and how your cat will react to a new cat. Some Bengals do fine being an only cat, my girl was an only cat for almost a year and she was great.However I am at home all the time so she was never really left on her own. Adding a new cat to a home is a very tricky situation!!! It can turn out great, they could love each other, they could just "live" with each other(like mine atm) or they could hate each other. If you are planning to get another Bengal first thing to do is make sure you get one with the same energy level as your girl, and I would suggest a kitten. Idon't think it really matter what sex the new kitten is, some say that males are sweeter and more laid back while females are more stand offish but personally I think it just depends on the cat. If you want two females I would say go for it, just keeps your current girls best interest in mind while looking for a new kitten/cat!

If it were me I'd definitely get a second one, because it's pretty likely that it will benefit your other cat, and benefit you as well. I think what you'll realize is that many of the really cool cat behaviors you'll really only witness when two cats are interacting with each other. But at the same time I think you have to prepare yourself for the possibility that they might not get along right away, and/or that they might not become inseparable friends as adults. Your resident kitty might resent the fact that you added a "rival", and hold that against you for some time also. It can lead to problems like her not wanting to interact with you, peeing/pooing outside her litterbox, etc. But if you get a kitten, at least the introduction part should be easier.

So if you do it, set your expectations at a reasonable level, hope for the best but plan for the worst, and commit to seeing it through, even if it isn't easy.

I'm getting a second bengal for my current bengal Lilly as thinking long term, when I move, she would be home alone when I'm at work, not fair on her. I'm lucky as Lilly is only 5 months old and daisy is just under 3 months younger than Lilly, I don't get daisy for another 2-3 weeks but am really looking forward to it now. Seeked a LOT of advice from this forum and from the breeders, but personally I'm really apprehensive about introductions as they don't necessarily always go well from what I've read/been told.

I guess I'm agreeing with the above post that you have to set your expectations at a reasonable level. Hope for the best but realise that things might not be perfect from day 1 and may take some adjusting for the current cat/kitty. Defiantly what I've been doing.
