A bit off topic... Bf is the problem...NOT the cat!

yh i dont have mine in my bedroom at night cus they would just pee about, or start doing the opposite and start meowing to get out! lol. I know the idea of having a cute fluffy kitten to snuggle with sounds cute, but it isnt always that way, especially as they get bigger...and heavier...lol

I allow Phoebe in the bedroom at night now and again, I can see if she is in a playful mood and won't settle she gets locked out, as she goes nuts for your feet and crazy random jumps at your head, other times she will force her way under the blankets and goes straight to sleep.

It's fair to say, she is probably locked out more than she is let in, as she always wants to play, but she is getting better over time, but it's judged nightly if she is allowed in, that's the only way we can make sure we are not sleep deprived.

During the day, the bedroom door is open, if she wants to go in there she is welcome to :smile:

Interesting to see everyone's methods on cats & sleeping! I guess it just depends on the kitty and the human!

I set up the spare room last night and even though I didnt sleep in there, he did and was quiet all night. Might have something to do with the highly stressful vet trip & vaccinations or maybe he was just happy he has his own room and bed to be in!!!

I'll see how he goes - if he's ok i'll stay in my king bed (I paid a fortune for) but if he's whinging I can sleep in the spare room occassionally!

Hopefully in time Ben comes around and isn't so strict about the no go policy!

I thought everyone slept with their cats! lol I was wrong!! :lol:

Our bedroom door is not shut so the cats come and go all night. Invariably i have a terrible night's sleep because of 1/2/3/4/5 cats. BUT i love them and love it when the snuggle next to me. The Tonks love to be under the covers next to me or my husband. Evie favours him and Pippa favours me. Toby tends to love my husbands legs and will come to me for a cuddle at some point so his loyalty is divided. Lily likes whoever doesn't have the other cats as she likes to be in the prime position. Max, on the overhand, sleeps on the door bed in the spare room...... :rolleyes:

Last year we had a litter of 7 tonkinese kittens (i breed tonks) and when they were old enough to climb over the board at their room (around 7/8 weeks) we had all 11 tonks on the bed.... :lol:

They tend to migrate towards my husband as i think he is warmest of us.... so he wakes up feeling achey from twisting all night around so many cats/kittens :lol:

I'm not allowed my cats in the bedroom at night but too be fair on the occasions they've hidden under the bed and then come out half way through I have the most broken sleep. They take up the whole bed or play loudly.

If it helps the crying will stop- just give it time. He will learn that bed time means separate rooms.
