How to introduce two cats???

no worries :D thank you for your input, I know I worded it weird. Basically I want to make sure everything is safe first and that when they are upstairs they know where the box is (as its 2 separate rooms) where downstairs is all one open space and should (theoretically) be easier to find their way to.

Regarding the earlier litter box comments, some cats are just perverse. Ella likes using the litter tray in peace, but Oscar keeps wanting to go at the same time as her... it's simply not big enough. And of course no matter how many litter boxes I have, he wants to go in the same one.... :rolleyes:

Well Jasper has started something new tonight! He is trying to mount BB :question:

is this normal for an ex stud cat? Should I break them up or let them work it out? BB is starting to get aggravated but she stays right there with him and keeps going back for more! He will lay down and finally give it a break and then she goes bananas and runs right in front of him flipping and flopping around in the floor! What on earth do I do?

Yeah Alex does it to Tamika, it's a domination thing too.
Does BB get annoyed? If not then just leave it. If she's getting annoyed then she'll let him know I guess. Tamika growls and hits Alex when she's had enough of him being dominating.

BB get aggravated but only because he doesn't chase her :rolleyes:

she could not care less that he is grabbing her neck or yowling at her, she just thinks its a game and gets all wound up running around like a mad cat!!! He stayed at her for a good part of two hours before she finally walked off and went to my bed! So I got up and started turning the lights off and he came next to me and SPrAYeD all on my book case :evil:

I firmly told him no and cleaned it up with the natures miracle! Then I put Jim in his safe room where he pulled and scratched at the door for an hour! I now know that it's not BB that I have to worry about reaching her limit, it's him! I think he just got to worked up and his hormone levels haven't come down enough since he was "completely" neutered only two weeks ago!

So we brought in another cat and my 2 year old bengal didn't like it very much. He hissed at her and now not hissing or anything. We have her confined in the bathroom. She is so sweet. Bengal doesn't like it very much. Any advice?

He's just sitting there looking at the door

BB and Jasper acted like they wanted to kill each other through the door :rolleyes:

it was a little scary and I was worried they were going to try to! I would suggest to start scent swapping! Get a blanket for each of them let them lay on it and then trade! Even tho they may seem fine through the door I would still wait a couple of weeks to make sure the new kitty doesn't have anything she can pass to your Bengal! Give it a couple of days and if its like my situation it will get worse before it gets better! BB was fine with Jasper's presence for about 24-36 hours then after that she got really cranky with him at the door! Don't freak out tho they will settle and start to explore the scent of each other and before you know it it will be time to introduce!

So i have been scent swapping. my Bengal is hissing here and there but he laid down on the blanket she slept on last night that smells like him. Is that a good sign? he avoids the bathroom door. I forgot to mention both cats are up to date on their shots and she isnt a bengal (DSH)

I would think that is a good sign! At least he doesn't associate her scent with a threat! It might take him a few days before he investigates the door but he will! Curiosity gets the best of cats, sometimes in a good way!just continue doing what you are doing and make sure to pay extra attention to him! BB was mad jealous when I would visit Jasper so I had to make sure she got more attention than him to begin with and then equal it out when he seems less threatened by her!

i just did a rub both cats and Mr cranky Bengal tail is now up in the air. i hope thats a good sign (my girlfriend spends more time with her cat (the newcomer)

It will take him awhile to settle and allow her in the home, if he does! He might be the type of cat that will just out up with her(this is BB) and he might take her in and they become best buddies! Only time will tell! Is he bonded with your GF any? Did she pay attention to him on a regular basis before your new addition?The reason I ask is because if she did, she needs to pay him the same amount as before if not more! The new kitty will be fine but he is the one that is having his space invaded and his attention given away!

so we just went for it and for some reason Seymour submitted to her but theres a little growling here and there :D. it went better then i thought it would. i thought he was going to try to kill her.
