I have a question... (is my cat a tabby or a bengal/bengal mix?)
My cat Princess is 6 months old,and now as she is getting bigger,I noticed her coat is changing/stretching.
When she was a kitten, she had black/grey stripes on white coat, which appeared a bit blured, with some random orange colouring, and now i noticed spots and small circles along side her back.
She is a bit different than other cats in behaviour too...I've had many cats, russian blue and other tabbies, even breeded russian blue, but none of the cats were so demanding and playfull as Princess. So I thought she was still a kitten, and all little cats are playfull.
My friend who has some knowledge about cat breeds, and cats in general, got me thinking, she asked if she has some bengal nature, and I had no idea. So,she asked a few questions, and all of them were positive:

-she is playfull and needs constant change of toys as she gets bored easily with the same one (she finds herself amused with toilet paper instead)
-loves games as fetching ball, and jumping high in the air
-she appears to be small and skinny for her age,but firm, steady and muscular
-has soft fur
-has partially wedged paws...

She is also very cuddly, affectionate, smart and an overall a cute funny cat.
I'm not an expert,so I just wanted to ask someone who knows.
Here are few pics of my Princess, and a video of her fetching a ball :D

p.s. this is a bengal cat according to the owner
"This is my cat Dutchess, this is my bengal kitten i love her so much and wouldnt give her up for the world xx" ( has a similar pattern as Princess)

Hi and welcome to the forum :D

Your cat has some lovely markings. The fact that she is a Torbie (Tortie and tabby) means that she cannot be 100% bengal. Of course, it is possible she is part bengal but you will not really be able to find out.

Unfortunately it is so difficult to determine what breeds a moggie cat is crossed with. Personality can be a guide but not a definitive benchmark and not a reason to determine what breed a cat is. They are more to decide if a particular breed is suitable for your home. She does have some wonderful spots that do look like they are rosetting a little which could indicate bengal.

Short answer is - no idea....

How did she come to find you to pamper her?

She looks like her fur is so very soft, i just want to stroke her!

How beautiful is she!!!! I am not an expert either on any breed of cats really, but I have seen my fair share of Bengals and their markings!!! IMO I think she would have Bengal somewhere in her line simply because she has rosettes not just spots. I think you have a very beautiful girl!!! LUCKY YOU!!

Thank you all so much! :D
I love cats my whole life, but my husband wasn't crazy for them, but I obviously changed his mind over the years, couse he brought Princess from the market, where some woman had a bunch of kittens in a box,and was giving them to people...he felt sorry, and brought her home, and on the way decided she is a Princess :)
She had chopped whiskers, and it took 3 days for her to feel safe with us.
It really doesn't matter if she has a little bengal in her,or not...but I was just curious, she is special to us in her own way.
Thank you for answering so quickly,we are saying hi :)

this was after 2 weeks in our home

What an awful way to sell kittens.... Might be normal where you are though? What a nice husband to rescue the poor thing.

I looked at all the pictures you have posted again and she is really really pretty. I am actually quite jealous. Such unusual markings really. I do think she could be part Bengal but you may never know. She is really pretty though.

I hope you will stick around as it would be lovely to see her grow and hear more about her.

BTW: many moms chew the whiskers of their kittens. Some people believe they do it to keep them close so they do not roam too far. My girl Lily, always chews off whiskers of her kittens and the older cats in my house.

I'm from Croatia and yes,it is quite usual to sell or give kittens away in that matter, there are a lot of stray and unwanted cats,unfortunately...

I've never seen moms chew whiskers of their kittens,my russian blue cat never did that to her little ones,so I'm a bit releaved to find that out.

Sure will stick around to learn more about cats who are a little bit demanding...you have a great forum here.

She's a very pretty cat. :) She's lucky your husband brought her home for you to care for.

It's normal here for people to give away kittens, too. Once, I saw a man giving away kittens just outside of a Target store. My girls were begging for one but we already have 4.

My moggie has more behavioral traits of a bengal than my actual bengal does

She is gorgeous, no matter what she is, she sounds like she is in a loving home x

>is my cat a tabby or a bengal/bengal mix?

Technically, spotted and marbled Bengals ARE Tabbies, all tabbies though are not Bengals.
Tabby is the pattern, not the breed nor the name of the cat.

http://paragonbengals.wordpress.com/2009/10/

So yes, your cat is a tabby, the same as most of the Bengals here.
She is also a tortieshell and white.
I also love torbies. :)

Unfortunatelly,we have very bad news  ...our Princess is gone, wondered off somewhere...

She really didn't go outside,it was winter...she had a wounded paw,and we gave her antibiotics, and the vet said not to let her outside...
so then when she was off therapy,we didn't let her outside again...I suppose, just waited for her to be 6 months,to get her sterilized.

And we did,26.02...

http://sphotos-g.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-a ... 3073_n.jpg

I was so happy to finally let her smell the air and eat grass when she recovered from surgery...she never went too far from the house...
we let her outside every day and check on her every little while, then take her inside when it gets cold...

Till 19.03. when she jumped through the window and happilly crossed the street to our neighbors yard...and then a heavy rain began...we called for her,but no sign of her till today...we know our neighborhood like a palm of our hand, from tirelessly searching for her, such a hard struggle...we go to find her,and come home even more dissapointed and sad...
I went online and gave her picture to every organization for cats in our town,my husband and I go twice a day through our neighborhood...walking,calling,and we bring her favourite jingling mouse toy to make noise,so she hears it...but nothing...

Today is snowing, and I can't help, but crying and thinking of her...is she cold, hungry,in someones house...? endless questions...

A big void is in our hearts, but we still have hope our Princess comes home...

This is her last pic taken, resting on clothes dryer in the bathroom...

So sorry to hear this, I really hope she turns up soon, have everything crossed for you and Princess. Have you tried posting flyers in to houses in the surrounding area? You may find someone has taken her in after mistaking her for a stray perhaps and aren't aware that people are looking for her? Good luck and please keep us updated x
