hi again gemma,

what you need from them is a pedigree for each cat, which should have at least four generations, the name of your cat, the date of birth & the breeder's signature.

the registration paper is a white slip that they will receive from the GCCF once the "kittens" are registered. attatched to this is an exact copy on a pink slip, which is called the transfer slip. they should give the pink slip to you, so you can then return it to the GCCF with a small fee, to have them transferred into your name. this piece of paper has your cats registered name on it, the GCCF registration number, & the names of the sire & dam (with reg. numbers & owner's names). if the cats have been registered on the active list (which they should be as you bought them as breeders), this isn't mentioned. but if they are registered as non-active, there is a note on the slip saying "this cat is on the non-active register" or words to that effect.

once you finally get this slip, & nag them til you do, photocopy it before you send it off to the GCCF, so you have a copy for your records in case of any postal problems. the GCCF will eventually return a transfer slip to you, which will have you listed as the registered owner.

i hope i have explained this clear for you (i do tend to waffle  ), if you are unsure of anything you are welcome to contact me (or meemonkey who has also offered) and i'll be happy to help further if i can :D

Hi Gemma,

Here's some sample versions of what Ren is describing above so you know what you're looking for, I've included both GCCF and Tica registration slips so you know what to expect regardless of which organisation they choose to register them with.

Obviously your copy should be complete with the relevent details regarding your particular mating etc etc.

Let us know how you get on with it all and if any problems arise!

I'm also waiting for my TICA slip, the breeder lost it and must have asked TICA for a new one on Monday... (but she gave me an unofficial pedigree and I don't think she lied about it ;), just got to be patient  ).

Good news after a few more conversations and not turning up twice when they had agreed to drop round the pedigrees etc tonight we finally got them!

We have two bits of A4 white paper with thier family trees on and two pink slips.

According to the paperwork thier Mum is Squidgywidgee Diamond Star and the Dad is Zugzog Zubin and this is thier Grandad:

oh that's wonderful news!

i'm so pleased they finally came through, it looks like the good luck fairy is paying attention to you at the moment, what with the job & all!!

you need to send the pink slips back to the GCCF now with the transfer fee, so they will be transferred into your ownership...unless the old owners did this for you.

compare them to the sample that luke kindly put on this post for you, & see who is listed in the present owners box. also, see if anything is in the box next to this, with regards being active/non active.

feel free to pm me or give me a call if there's anything you don't understand or need a hand with :D

LOL You lot are bonkers

The pink slips have the "Owner" as the Breeders and "Present Owner" details are the breeders.

There is a bit which says "Transfer to" which I can fill in but the bit next to it says "Signature of present owners" does that mean I have to get them to sign it only that will probably take another 5 months
