They haven't been neutered yet as they are too small, but Luis is getting the chop done next week.

I think he is very hormonal at the moment and he quite agressive with us, which is why we weren't too surprised when they started fighting.

Do bengals calm down a lot after they've been neutered and let outside, cause Luis is turning into a nightmare

Mikesch was neutered recently and I'm not sure yet if it has calmed him down. He seems to have stopped spraying over the last week or so, which is good news, but he also seems to have redirected the energy freed up by stopping his marking behavior to chasing and bullying the other cat into play-fighting. (At least I assume he's playing as long as I don't see any blood...) Pretty much the only thing that keeps him from play-attacking Binky is if I play with him instead to divert his energy. Maybe you can try distracting Luis with an attractive toy when letting the two cats together? That way, they might learn to play together.

well, we let Luis in and he sat on top of Pepe and appeared to be biting him on his neck. Pepe didn't fight back, acted dead and just hissed a few times, so we separated them.

Any idea what that was supposed to mean?

Sounds like Luis is asserting his top cat status over Pepe. It might be a form of prey-playing or more likely play-fighting in order to establish dominance. He might be saying, "This is my house and I was here first so do not dare to challenge me!" If Pepe limits his reaction to playing dead and hissing defensively, he is in fact submitting - for now. I think it's a normal way for them to establish their pecking order and they probably will work things out between themselves if you let them. You might want to watch closely and have a squirt gun or a blanket at the ready in case you need to interfere. (Don't risk your fingers separating them if they start fighting for real.) Hopefully they'll get along better after they've cleared the question of their social hierarchy. Getting them neutered should definitely help to curb inter-male aggression.

Well, I'm happy to say that Luis and Pepe and starting to get along, especially during feeding time.

As soon as I put the bowls down the "fighting" is promtly abondonned and both rush to get their tummys full

Luis is still quite agressive in his playing, but that seems to be "the bengal way" from reading other people's posts here. The fact that Luis is three times as heavy and twice as big as Pepe doesn't make it very fair!

i dont want to alarm you Petr, but if the last pic is of your manx kitten pepe then there is something seriously wrong with him...........ie he has a tail!!!

Some manx kittens do have tails - it just depends on what you get in the litter.

Hehe! Well, my inner geneticist insisted that I google the Manx gene and I found out that the double-tailless gene combination is lethal, meaning a kitten with that combination dies before birth. So all tailless Manx cats have the mixed genes (tailless/normal) because otherwise they wouldn't have survived until birth. Therefore, the majority of Manx litters should have some long-tailed kittens in it.

That got me wondering (off topic): Do people purposefully breed tailless with long tail Manx to circumvent abortions? Theoretically, such a combination should give about half tailless, half normal tail kittens without any aborted ones, whereas two tailless Manx would mean a quarter of the kittens aborted before birth.
