Anything to do with a Bengal

I saw this local newspaper headline on Sky News so I dont know anything else about the cat - but isnt it similar to a Bengal?
Does anyone else know anything about the cat?

Can you tell me the date on the paper, I've searched their website for the article but their search function is rubbish.

Its todays paper (18 June) but I couldnt find out any more information either...its hard to tell from the photo what size the cat actually is.

This is the same network of local papers that produces our "rag" - it is full of sensationalist and ignorant articles and if you see a lot of the reader comments the average audience isn't much better! Our paper is always being accused of making things up and reporting inaccurate stories.

How could anyone be so stupid as to label a Bengal as wild "big cat"?? It's not as if the breed is unknown....many people that I meet know and recognise Bengals, even if they haven't ever seen one in the flesh (or fur).

And people wonder why we don't want to let our cats out??

No doubt the article has been pulled as someone has corrected the error made by the paper - perhaps even the poor cat's owner - what a tragedy.....

This has made me an unhappy bunny indeed :-(

Maybe it's just the angle I am looking at it from, or because the picture is smaller on my computer screen, but I thought that poor cat was a Savannah...his/her ears are a little larger then a bengals, and I know Savannahs grow to be larger as well. I could be wrong?

The article heading said 'Big Cat found' so I wondered what type of cat it actually was and if it was any relation to the ALC? Oh I agree, its horrible to publish the photo and someone obviously owned it and loved it, if it is just a normal Bengal pet cat.

This was my baby. I found out that he was dead from that picture and have received no apology from the idiot that wrote the article despite the fact that he clearly researched it and bothered to find out that it was a bengal (and therefore probably someone's pet) but didn't bother to waste time checking that he was microchipped. :cry:

It was my husband that had the article pulled from the paper's website. He was nearly 9 year old and a cherished member of our family. The paper's and our local pub's insensitivy is incomprehensible.
