Without a doubt we all love the rosettes. For me that is what intrigued me about Bengals in the first place. But we musn't forget the type and many breeders are getting good heads without going back to early generation cats. It's all about moving forward not backwards....this is my opinion
Saying all this there has to be a balance. I know a breeder in the US who is no longer breeding now. She concentrated that much on the wild heads and not coats that she was getting really bad ticked coats and couldn't sell them. There needs to be a balance....somewhere in the middle
We bought a stud boy a few yers ago just for his head. He wasn't glittered and didn't have the best looking coat either but the kittens he sired had amazing heads.
The down side for us is that most of his kittens didn't have good coats and many were ticked. We felt that we needed to move away from him, keep a daughter and 2 grand daughters who had better coats and good heads.
We are not big breeders so it was difficult for me to keep a stud that only seemed to have good kittens with one of our girls. His kittens with our other 4 girls were pretty awfull
So now we prefer to work with boys that are glittered with average heads " not perfect " . We have a couple of unglittered girls with good heads and a few girls with lovely glittered coats...their heads are not as good.
I like this challenge of putting the 2 together
