I'm new(ish) here too. My husband and I are doing our research now and are planning to "start the family" in Sept/Oct-ish. what a long wait!!!

On May 5th we picked up a 6 week old, what we were told, Maine Coon SH mix. Our previous MC lived 15 yrs; came to visit one day and stayed so...my husband wanted another MC in place of Milo. We purchased Buddy from a Rescue Shelter; the people running it were extremely nice and Buddy came socialized and balanced, as well as handsome. Buddy is cream with orange stripes, rosettes, has the "lone ranger mask" markings on each side of face, as well as other Bengal markings. Today I looked at him and thought "Buddy has about a much MC in him as I do" He has been neutered, nails clipped but is showing kitten bitting and some claw action. Is the bitting normal? Is he teething? We use a squirt-gun for discipline and try to know when he is giving love bites vs. agressive bitting. Any advise is appreciated as it is about the only behavior that drives me batty. As to another's post, Buddy seems to like water but not getting drenched with the squirt-gun. Thanks.

Hi welcome to the fourm. I hope to see photos of you baby. We love photos here... About the biting, Olly my kitten does this too. Sometimes its just playing hard. Just spray them and say "no bite". Water does not work on my Olly. He loves water so I have to put him on timeout when he gets to wild.

Hi Rhiannon (hope that is spelled right), I noticed that you and I live in the same general area. Have you found a vet that understands the Bengal breed? We had Buddy neutered at the clinic where the rescue shelter took all their cats for shots, labs, etc. It is in Loma Linda; a little ways off if Buddy needs help NOW. I had him de-wormed at a clinic in W. Riverside which doesn't charge a fee for "walking in the door" but I had to wait 1.5 hours since they don't take appointments. (We are in the Woodcrest area off VB).

I will have my husband put a picture of Buddy on my laptop as I am not as experienced in computers as he (or my 20 yr. old daughter) is. Buddy is handsome---I have no clue why someone at the shelter had him pegged as a MC but I'm glad they did since we received one exceptional kitty. He looks a lot like Olly but with Cream/Orange (snow?) markings. Looking forward to e-mailing you and hearing from you. Thanks

Yes you spelled it right. Wow we are in the same area. I take Olly to Dr. Lee in Fontana. He treats a few bengals, that I know of. The vet tech there has Olly's brother. And the Vet is friends with the owners of Olly's mom and dad. (He treats them also) I been going there for years. The # is 909-829-8840. Well, once you have photo's of your little one on here I am sure everyone will be able to tell you if its a snow or not.
