I'm looking for some ideas that I can give ZhaZha for treats. She loves Greenies, but I want to find some other stuff.

Hi,

Our cats love freeze dried chicken or fish. I recently bought some to train one of our youngsters. The cats love it and it stores safely in the cupboard. Here's a link where to buy it from :

Mine like dried fish. You can buy that from the local pet store I believe. They're called ocean treats.

I only give them one or two though (cos they make a mess when they eat it).

Mine like the whiskas crunchy and soft things. I ping them away so they have to chase them. They have to work for their treats ;-)

Also a treat ball is pretty good. You can put the crunchies inside and the ball has a small hole. The cat has to play with the ball so that the treats fall out. They figured that out pretty quickly.

Mine love, love, LOVES tuna flakes. He'll knock the container off the counter several times a day trying to get to them. He is normally VERY picky about food, and usually ignores treats - but not these!!

They market them as "bonito flakes" sometimes too.

Thrive cat treats...its freeze dried prawns, chicken or fish in a tube. He comes running if you shake the tube and its really useful to entice him off the top kitchen units he likes to hide on :)

My hubby tried giving the boys a bit of wafer-thin smoked ham last night - after a lot of sniffing and circling around they really went for it - to the extent of making very low threatening growls to each other if one got too close to another's territory!

I'm not sure I entirely approve of this though - don't want them getting a taste for junk food

I'd be careful with ham. Both my Bengal books state not to give them any pork. When you look in the supermarket shelves, there are no pork cat food combinations.

There is only one Tesco type that I have found so far that includes ham.

I sometimes give mine a taste of waferthin turkey which they love.

After I have given them some (very mildly!!!) spiced chicken, they were both sick...

I don't know if the pork thing is a Bengal NO NO or a Cat NO NO in general?

Does anybody know?

Don't worry, I don't intend for this to become a habit!

I have read various things about Bengals eating very odd food though - poppadoms, crisps etc - I wonder what the strangest thing is that people have seen their Bengals eat?

Do you give your cats raw or cooked prawns?
