Hi everyone. I just ran across this forum the other day and I have to say it looks great! My name is Peter and wife is Heather. We have owned two bengals now for 3 1/2 months now. Their names are Minkah and Turi. They get into everything like all Bengals and they are very vocal.

The only issue we have had with them is their bout with Giardia, which I still don't think is over. We have tried numerous times with Panacur and have now moved to Drontal Plus - 3 day dose. I am bringing them back to the vette but Turi is still having loose stools. Could they be passing back to each other through grooming? Is is just a super resistant strand of Giardia? Any opions would be great. I did post some pics of them in the gallery, but here a couple anway.

Thanks!

hi welcome to the forum :D

re Giardia- has it been diagnosed with tests or is it just the vets opinion?
sorry to sound so forward but what with the bengal as a breed proned to "funny tums" there has been many mis-diagnosis' .
what are you feeding them? as this could be a major player!
also Drontol can be nightmarish for Bengals

love the pics!
FG :D

Hi, thanks for the reply - We are feeding them Hill's sensitve stomach and the Hill's ID wet food once a day. They love both of them.

Yes our vet has diagnosed Giardia in both of them since we got them. Minkah (spotted) hasn't really had any issue with loose stools, but Turi (marbled) has always had problems. I know it is difficult to test and confirm giardia, and I'm wondering if he is just going to have problems. We are here in the US, i know alot of people on here are from other parts of the world. I just bought another bag of the Hill's sensitive stomach food last night. Is there something else to try?

BTW, they have hated us since we have been shoving panacur down there mouths for the past few months, and then holding a bengal down to give him drontal is ridiculously difficult. We had to bring Minkah to the vet for 2 days so they could do it.

Any help in this situation is greatly appreciated. Turi had some diahoreah this morning again. Poor guy, I feel terrible!
