Hi,

I discovered these forums when trying to find info on Bengal cats. We have a bengal named Lea that is about 5 1/2 months old. She likes to play and has learned fetch on her own. She somewhat likes water but has not jumped into a full tub or the shower yet. She does try to offer to help with household chores by following around Jan.

Actually she somewhat trained us. We are working with the book "how to train your cat in 10 minutes" using a clicker. We aren't haven't a lot of luck with it. She tends to do the "come" command when you have food but smart enough (or hard headed) to not come if you don't have food.

We are going to be having her fixed in the next month along with another female we have. She is 2 1/2 years old and is a faded Calico. She is somewhat antisocial but is doing well with the new addition.

Here are the links to her pictures when she was actually not moving.

The info I was looking for is the top running speed of a Bengal cat. The typical cat is 30-35 mph but I'm assuming that because of the way the bengal is built, somewhat like the Leopard, they could run a little faster. I have not been able to find any info on this.

I look forward to reading your comments on our you thankfully sleeping right now kitten :)

Hi Mike,

Welcome to the forum....

I think you might be right, Bengals can probably top a "normal" cats speed - almost certainly they can jump further than a normal cat, we sometimes find ours in places and think "how on earth did you manage to jump up there?" - we're talking 6-7ft leaps!

Ours has tried to climb me and Jan a couple of times. She hasn't figured out that this is somewhat painful for us humans.

We do get her jumping high even for 5 1/2 months. We use a laser pointer to play with her and if we put it up on a wall, she'll jump up and try to get it. In fact, I would say the laser is one of her favorite items to chase.

I'm far from a person that raises cats for show and just want a unique pet but I was curious how her markings and physical features rate. Any of the experts in the crowd feel free to answer.
