So I get my bengal on the 23rd, had some questions *PICS*

Hi! I'm new here, and I'm really glad to see that there's a bengal forum where I can ask questions when I get the little guy. Well I get Felix on the 23rd. Felix's dad is an SBT and his mom is an F3, so I'm not sure if that makes him an F4, F5, or SBT. He's flying in from Sacramento, and I'm picking him up in Palm Springs (I live in Pasadena). I was wondering if there's anything I could do to make it more comfortable for him. Like take some treats or something to give to him on the car ride home, or maybe a ball or toy or something. I know it's going to be super stessful for him, and I want to make it as easy as possible for him to adjust. I already got everything for him, I took some pictures (you can see them below) and I was wondering if there was anything else I need.

I live in my room, which is seperated from my dad's house. My room is not very large (14"x16") so I'm gonna need to take him on walks like every day, I'm also going to build a cat run and buy him one of those 9-level cat condos to put in front of my window in the future. As far as the walking goes, he's only going to be 12 weeks when I get him, so I was going to ask what kind of collar and leash you guys would recommend for a 12 week old (I probably won't take him on a walk for the first week or so). I feel bad for him being trapped in my room, but I am going to do my best to take him out as much as possible, and who knows, maybe he'll like it in here.

Well that's all I can think of right now, if there's anything you guys would like to add feel free. The pictures of Felix are in chronological order so you can see how he's grown. I'm just hoping his eyes turn into green instead of yellow (I love green eyes on anything, but I will love him either way).

Hi there,

I just got my bengal kitten last weekend. One of the things I would recommend is that you get the breeder to put a blanket in his bed for a bit before you pick him up and then use that in the box you bring him home in. Was recommended to me by one of the guys on the site but unfortunately that was after I brought him home!!!!

Your baby is absolutely gorgeous - he has a really cute wild wee face and enormous eyes!!! I've also posted pics on Lubo on the gallery so take a peek!

In terms of your room, should not be much of a problem initially although I have to confess Lubo is already out and about investigating - they are very curious by nature! :wink:

Wow! Lubo is gorgeous! The way he is sleeping is just breath taking! So I should ask the breeder to put a blanket in Felix's shipping cage? Sorry for being slow, but did you say I should put that blanket in his bed at my house? Sorry I haven't slept a wink and I'm really slow :lol:

No worries, try to get some sleep!

Get your breeder to put it in his current bed (where he is sleeping now as it will pick up the scents and smells he is familiar with). When he is ready to leave get her to put it in his shipping cage (it will provide him with some comfort). You can then put it in his bed when he gets home and again this should give him some reassurance.

Love all the gifts/toys you have bought for him - he will be one very spoilt little kitty! Can tell you are very excited (as I was a couple of weeks ago!).

I'm getting a bengal marble in 5 weeks time to join Lubo (my friends and family think I've gone mad!). At least I now have Lubo to make the time more bearable. They are such loving cats and a real pleasure to have.

I'm also looking for a harness for Lubo (all seem very big to me) and am in the process of building a run. I've been out searching for logs and branches to put in it to make it a real fun place for him to be.

If you have any luck on the harness please let me know.

My breeder just sent me an email saying my best bet will probably be something like a harness for ferrets, due to his small size. I'll look into it and let you know.

Forgot to say, Lubo's eyes turned green and they are gorgeous!!!! I prefer green eyes too although the almond colour can be really gorgeous and wild looking.

I'm not sure if it will fit or not but it looks pretty nice, it comes with two catnip toys as well. You can go on ebay and look for some ferret harnesses. Lemme know what you think. Also, we need to find a way to liven this board up a little bit!

Thanks for replying, agree with your comment re livening up the board. I work during the day so only come on in the evenings. Only been a member for a couple of weeks but it is very quiet around here at the moment.

Not sure, but I'm a monster on message boards because I'm apart of one of the biggest boards ever, it has almost 150,000 members so I'm used to instant-message type replies, and detailed posts, hence the bazillion pics.
