We tried raw with our stud.....He just looked at us funny each time, as if to say "aren't you gonna cook that for me"

All our cats get treats now and then like prawns , chicken breast fillets etc.....but someone did say to try ground-up chicken wings.

They grind the wings up in a food blender and mix with biscuits....we've not managed to try this out yet!

My cats get a wide variety of foods. Three of my Bengals LOVE RAW chicken and Beef. They all seem to like "Fancy Feast" slices in gravy, and the Royal Canin Siamese 38. But, they pretty much get whatever they want :D

They also love cold cuts, and when I have a sandwich, I have to share, or they are in my face, trying to steal the meat from my sandwiches while I'm trying to bite the OTHER side

What can I say, my "pride" is QUITE spoiled.

All our bengals like different food which makes feeding interesting. Caramelo eats only raw chicken wings (blanched in boiling water before serving and which he crunches right down to a small stump) and microwaved chicken breast - he won't touch fish, kibble or tinned food no matter how we try to tempt him  . Occasionally he might fancy a little raw lean beef mince.

One young lady eats only microwaved fish fillets and chicken. Others eat Whiskas tinned food (in jelly seems to be favourite), Royal Canin or Purina kibble and sometimes a chicken wing as above.

We tried mincing up the wings but the cats won't touch it..I guess they like to crunch them up. Must say the cats who eat the wings have got lovely strong clean teeth 8) .

When Jivana was a kitten he had chronic diarrhea also. When I switch over to feeding raw it cleared up and he hasnt had it since.

VERY IMPORTANT to make sure the bones do not cook when feeding to cats. You can only serve raws bones. Cooked bones become hard and brittle and can cause serious problems.

Sorry for the ignorance but why do you blanch them first?

More for variety than anything else - our family are fed Hills adult biscuits - with either hairball or dental added...available to nibble all the time.

Staple diet is felix pouches - as good as it looks meat/fish versions fed twice a day morning/night and for added treats sometimes to replace a 'felix meal' either raw chicken drumsticks [serves as food and a toy - watch a learn!], fresh cooked fish served cold [mackerel - staying in Scotland does have benefits!], fresh cooked chicken breast again served cold and sometimes flakes of tuna [rinsed well]...not given them too much of the same 'treat' I hope ensures that they are getting all the vitamins etc from either the dry food or the felix pouches...

Though I have found that yoghurt seems to attract their attention and paws - so much so I now stand while eating one as it's easier!!!!

They are probably better fed than I am!

James

Just to kill any superficial bacteria. We reckon that as long as the wings are human consumption items and aren't hanging around after feeding time for more than an hour or so (they never are :D ) the risk of a bacterial infection isn't great. We've heard of a cat being fed raw chicken breast getting a nasty campylobacter infection (I believe the owner's family got it too - stool samples from whole family to the doctor etc  ). I think the main thing with the wings is that there's not much meat - it's the bones and calcium in them that matter. All the best.

Hi,
The staple diet I feed my two on are Whiskas and Technical or Iams dried food.
For variety they also have rabbit, venison, chicken and fish, which I usually cook.
The fish they love raw but they don’t seem to like the darker, oilier fish such as Mackerel. Tinned Tuna drained of the brine is their ‘treat’ food and usually reserved for shows.
They also have pheasant, which I always cook as we live in pheasant country. They live quite happily amongst these feathered birds and I don’t want them to associate the taste of the raw stuff with the sight of the birds in the fields!
Of course, they also supplement their diet themselves with their favourite delicacy…fresh mouse!!
Ziggi shares my passion for cheesecake and is allowed a teaspoon off the top on the rare occasion I treat myself, and Misti adores liver, which she is allowed occasionally. The maddest I have ever seen them behave over a foodstuff is the day some whelks were brought home, they were practically fighting over them!
Best wishes,
Annieco

I feed both my dogs any my cat prepackaged frozen raw. Natures Variety has a whole bunch of different choices. Coco's favorite is the Venison and Tunn prefers the chicken. I just throw them in the fridge a few hours before it is time to eat. They love it! I personally love it. Tunn has horrible teeth and the raw diet has helped alot with that, their stool is very minimal and different than if they were on dry food.

Hi.
Iv'e tried given raw, but they just turn their noses up. Dont want to no, they like dry, and pouche's of cat food and cooked chicken turkey. ect. but that's what they were brought up on from kitten's, I sopose if you brought kitten's up on raw meat they would be used to it.
