Hi,

I'm new to the Forum and just wanted to introduce myself. I am getting my first bengal baby on Saturday and cannot wait. The last 8 weeks have been unbearable!

I have some photos of my baby boy taken during my visits to him and once I work out how, I will post one of these.

I've been reading through some of the discussions over the last few weeks and these are really interesting. Look forward to hearing from you all. :)

Hi Linda....are you really ready to adopt a real live imp?

I guess you must already know what bengals can get upto if left to their own devices......only 2 golden rules to bear in mind when bringing him home:-

1. If your thinking "he won't get up there".........he will!

2. And that cupboard you think "he won't get into".........he will, even if it takes days...trust me on this one!

Can't wait to see some pics.....

We can vouch for this one - a few weeks ago, we left the hatch to the loft open, thinking "they won't be able to get up there" - we're talking a good 6ft jump from the bannister at an awkward angle.....

Sure enough, a few hours later, there's a familiar Bengal cry - go upstairs to find our girl in the loft crying because she can't get down again

Welcome to the forum BTW - get yourself ready for mischief

Thanks everyone. I've been doing lots of reading up and trawling the internet for hours - glad to have met like-minded people, everyone around me thinks I've become obsessed with bengals!

What do you think about having only one bengal - I've got a moggie (have always had cats, although this is my first bengal) but seems like the advice is 2 are better than 1? Keep thinking its a petty his sister has already got a home as I think I would have brought her home on Saturday too!

Any thoughts on only having one? My moggie is quite a sensitive little soul and not sure how she is going to appreciate my "little Lubo"

Another one showing the development of his coat coming through following a bad doze of the 'fuzzies'

Hi Linda

What a little stunner... he has such a lovely face!

Don't worry about getting 2 bengals. Yes, they prefer company and we always suggest having another cat (pedigree or moggie or even a dog!) for company but you have your moggie so he's not going to be on his own.

If, once you get him home you feel your moggie isn't enough company for him (Bengals can be quite demanding) then perhaps consider looking for a companion Bengal. If you do this whilst your boy is still a kitten you should have no problems introducing them. We had cats from different breeders with a 4 month age gap and they were best friends within hours!

Thanks Heidi - good advice. Was watching your kittens on you cat cam tonight - they look so cute. If I was to consider getting another bengal at some point in the future would the sex matter? Would it be best to get one from the same breeder? She is a small breeder and Lubo is from her first litter (there were only 2). She has another litter currently ( 3 boys). Appreciate your thoughts on this.
