I registered Raiden when he was six years old. His previous owner gave me the blank TICA registration papers. I contacted them to see if it was too late and it's apparently NEVER too late to register your kitty. Once it's done, it's done and finished. You get a paper with the registration in the event you ever want to transfer the cat as registration papers come with your name as the owner (plus the breeder).
I just found the whole pedigree thing so interesting. Raiden's grandfather on his dad's side is Gogees Warpaint, a regional winner and supreme grand champion who was the #1 cat in Japan in 2000 and the #6 cat internationally in 2000. I would never have known that without a pedigree and then googling online. Bengals are really a unique breed -- as are Savannahs. They also have F generations from the African serval.
This is why I'm about to go into my 4th year of compiling a database of bengals and their F generations. I'm crazy, I know .... but it certainly helped in this case to have the parents already in with an F generation and even having the kitten in my database without the parents.
