Hi guys,

I have a F4 Bengal. He is 1 year and 3 months old. I've had him for a year, since he was about 3 months or so. His height and weight increased quite quickly, but has maintained it, though I haven't been checking regular enough. This morning, he weighed in at 7kg and his height was measured at 4ft. Is this normal or something to be worried about? I ask this as it says online that they continue growing up to the age of 2.

If it helps, his current food plan is:

6am - 1/2 can of Applaws
11am - 50g of diced raw chicken breast
4pm - 1/2 can of Applaws
9pm - 50g of diced raw chicken breast

I'm not sure if I'm under/over feeding him. This is just what I've stuck with since I got him off Royal Canin dry food. He seems pretty happy, energetic and healthy. He doesn't actually crave food. He's happy to play with his toys until the food is out. Which is what's making me think I'm perhaps over feeding him, which is why he weighs so much?

Hi there, so my F3 boy- same age- is a muscular little ham. He's also 15 ish pounds so I wouldn't be too concerned. He eats half a can of Earthborn Holistic a day and has dry food out all the time. He and his sister ration it super well. She is about 8ish pounds.

1kg- about half a pound.

Holy moly. My 11 year old bengal boy weighs 10.4 pounds. Males weigh between 12 and 15 pounds. You have a hefty boy. They recommend 1 oz of wet food per pound. Mine doesn't eat that much, I know. It is not like your boy will weigh 30 pounds when fully grown. They just continue developing until the age of 2. I wouldn't look for him to gain much more weight. Sounds as if he is a healthy guy.

I have to say that 4 feedings a day for a cat over a year old is a bit unusual. Not necessarily a bad thing, but unusual nontheless. Check out this chart, this is how one determines how their cat is doing weight-wise.

Adult cats should generally be fed only twice main deal per day, unless your're training him to be a bodybuilder or sumo wrestler, lol.

Its good to feed him with main meal once in the morning and once in the evening with some grain-free kibbles for him snack in-between. It creates a feeding cycle which is more manageable especially when you are out whole day or need to put him up for boarding during long vacations.

My female Bengal weighs 11 lbs. I keep hearing males weigh more than females but mine isn’t quite done growing yet.
