I have a 15 week old male bengal. We already had 2 cats and a dog. He is constantly attacking them and won't take no for an answer. Any help or advice would be appreciated.

My 9 year old Bengal plays rough with one of our other cats. He lunges at her like he was in a WWF match. She has gotten used to him and usually walks away after she has had too much and he no longer pursues her. My Oberon is much, much more spirited than any other cat I have ever had. Your other animals will probably adjust to your Bengal's over-the-top exuberance.

You can do a few things to take the edge off. Your Bengal is probably bored and has a lot of energy. Too much energy perhaps. :)

1) You can try to tire him out with play and toys, Fishing toys like Dabird are good. The balls in a track around a scratching pad are good (Turboscratch?). I haven't tried the big cat wheel (Fast Cat Wheel) yet, but would definitely do that if I had a younger highly energetic cat. It may take 2-4 humans to wear out a young Bengal cat.

2) Pheromones to calm him down and feel more mellow to the other animals. Feliway, Sargeants and ThunderSpray have some calming products. Pheromone diffusers, calming sprays and calming collars. You might look into some Zylkene powder to add to his food (like in momma's milk).

Good luck and enjoy your very spirited cat.

Welcome to our forum and congratulations on your kitty. Oh boy ... kittens do play and bengal kittens do play A LOT! Yours is used to sparring with his siblings and since you have other pets, they are now the sparring partners. I'm sure this is not fighting or aggressiveness, although kittens do play rough. You will never get a 15-week old kitten to learn the word NO. Make sure you have lots of catification going on in your home -- tall cat trees, lots of toys. You should be playing a lot with him and not relying on your other pets to fulfill the need to play. Multi-pet households are the most difficult to regulate. You brought in a new baby to a home with existing pets who have set their territory. Your new bengal is going to try to infringe on that territory to make it his own. You might compare this with siblings who get along fine one minute and are fighting the next. Bengals are like children -- more so than other cats, so be prepared.

You've got spend time dealing with this and have patience. Your bengal is acting completely normal and you will never change that behavior. As he grows older, which will take some time, he may find your other pets not very attractive to play with. In the mean time, you be the playmate and wear him out so he wants to sleep and not play with your other pets. And, if your male is not neutered yet, make sure that is done before sexual maturity -- whatever your vet recommends. He could be neutered now, but many vets do not want to do early neutering. 4 to 6 months would be optimal, I think.

Just enjoy the adventures this boy will bring to the table for the next 12 to 15 years.

Hello! Mine's pretty hyperactive. She loves to play around with my 3 other cats. It doesn't seem like a problem to me unless they hurt each other. Does your cat literally attack them to the point of hurting them already?

Maybe his not comfortable to be with your other pets or you can bring him to vet.

I have a domestic cat who can handle the rough and tumble Bengal style of play. She was raised with puppies, and plays too rough for most cats.

I experienced this also. My cat really hates my dog to the point that they're hurting already each other. I was so sad since I am expecting that they will be friends but one morning I couldn't find my dog, trying to find him under my bed and couch and yes he's there hiding because he is afraid of my newly adopted cat. What should I do?

You are referring this activity as a "fight," but kittens don't fight. They have no idea how to fight. If you have ever watched kittens play with each other, they get quite aggressive in their play. A fight usually entails hissing, screaming, biting.

There is no such thing as not letting them cross paths. If you have to keep one pet locked up and away from the other household members, then that animal needs to be re-homed because it is not fair to that animal. You have a 4-month old bengal kitten. They have more energy than you and your other pets put together. This is something you must spend time dealing with. If you play with your kitten and wear the poor thing out, then it will not want to mess with the other pets.

The other thing is to make sure it is your kitten that is being the aggressor and not one of your other pets. Multi-pet households are a challenge and even more so when you bring a bengal into the mix. This will NOT sort itself out by itself, thus it is up to YOU to take the upper hand. Whatever you do, do not punish your kitten. They do not understand punishment and it is not going to work. I'm sure you are frustrated. But a lot depends on how well the breeder socialized this baby. Many breeders have moggie cats and dogs and their kittens are raised with them with no issue. This may not have been the case here. Thus, you probably should have made sure you got a kitten that had been raised with other pets.
