I have a 6month old bengal kitten. She is yowling and calling the my cat that is fixed. She will not leave him alone. She has been doing it this for third day and its gotten worse. How long is the heat cycle for a young bengal? She is suppose to go in the 22 nd of this month to get spayed. Will she be done by then or do i have to move the appointment back?

Oh dear -- A heat cycle can last a day or 7 days. She should be finished by the time her spay comes due. Vets can spay during a heat cycle but may do not want to do this due to the extra blood floor in the area of the spay. Your girl should have been spayed before her first heat cycle. But at least you're getting it done now. Hang in there a little longer .....

However, know that if your girl was not mated, she will come back into heat much sooner -- like in a few weeks, so the spaying has to get done ASAP.

A trick I used when I used to breed and show (Himalayans and Exotic Shorthairs) was to use a Q tip to take a gal out of heat. You put it in her vagina, wiggle it and fool her body into thinking she has mated. It takes her out of her heat cycle for a few weeks.

Done right, she will roll around and looks like she feels satisfied.

The Q-tip is actually a horrible idea! That is definitely on the NO NO list! Please do not try that method.

Why are you having to wait so long my girl was done at 4 months as soon as she came into season.
