So our Koneko is a new kitten. Born Dec 6 2016. Now I've had cats all my life, but never a hybrid, and all seem to want to share your most private moments. They figure you r stuck in one place and take full advantage of it. I've had the pleasure of one cat hopping into your pants and having the other outside batting at the other one through the fabric. A real party in your pants situation as it were, lol. But Koneko seems inordinately interested in all our bodily functions. To the point where we noticed that he would hop onto the bathroom sink and pee while we were doing our potty time. So yeah, imagine ur pooping, and now there's a cat peeing in the sink next to you. Potty time solidarity I was thinking. Never really knew to correct this issue, since hey, its a sink. Rinse the pee away and viola! But now, I see he has been going other places as well. Most notably, in my bed this morning. I was wondering initially if maybe I had too much beer the night prior and peed in the bed. Maybe I'm slipping into senility and incontinence at the ripe old age of 46. Maybe. But why are my feet wet and not my rear? After ruling out early onset dementia, and over active beer bladder I decided that one of my cats peed in the bed. Not cool. However, and this might sound seriously deranged, but after a sniff test, I had determined it was likely Koneko. Strangely enough, his pee is much less offensive smelling, as cat piss goes, so I knew it was likely him. So the question here is, what to do to curtail out of litter box experiences.

Did you use your bedroom as his 'safe room' when you first got him, with his litter tray and other essentials in there? As it could just be that he's expecting a litter tray to still be within 'the room he knows' and after not finding it has resorted to using the bed.

There will be a reason for his actions, the reason can vary. We have had a few "protest pee's" just this last week, because one of ours decided it was more important that someone get up and feed him "straight away" rather than do anything else. If breakfast took any longer than 2 minutes to come out the kitchen, off he would trot to find a cushion on the sofa to pee on. However, we appear to have fixed this by going back to three meals a day, 0600/1700/2100 and since they are now eating some three hours later than they were, all four appear more content in the morning and with no "demand to be fed" or "protest peeing". So really you have to have a good look and see what's changed, if anything, or what could possibly have kicked this behaviour off.

Interesting place for a kitty pee, but there are cats that use sinks and bathtubs -- a lot better than going on the carpet! It seems to be common for kittens to use a human bed as a litter box. I usually tell the owners to put a litter box IN the bedroom. One can never have too many litter boxes when a cat is going outside the box. The key is to make the bed a less inviting place to go. And that means making sure everything is cleaned with an enzymatic cleaner.

A major reason for a cat not using the litter box is that there is a UTI or crystals in the urine. If there is nothing medically wrong there, then the litter box is not inviting enough to the cat. Also "stress" can play a part so think back to whether something has changed in the environment -- did you move furniture around? Get something new in the house? Other pets? It is a challenge to try to figure out exactly what is going on, but the kitty is trying to tell you something is amiss.

You've never had a hybrid and they are quite different from your normal kitty cat.

Aiko is 6 months old now and she has been interested in our toilet habits since we got her basically.
She will sit in my pants when im sitting on the toilet or put her front paw on the toilet and try to peak at whats going on. Of course if you shut the door for privacy that is not on and little miss will yowl and swat at the door trying to get in!!
We have kind of just got used to it now.
The other day i was cleaning her tray in the laundry sink, i dont know if she just really needed to go or was just being a little terror but while i was washing it she jumped in a bucket that was at my feet and peed in there!!

Thanks for the answers everyone. Sherry, they are all on UTI food as well as low PH water d/t one of ours having crystals. But, we think we may have an answer. New carpet was installed a few weeks ago. Moreover, we discovered a local stray has been spending time around here. He had our 4 captivated tonite when he showed up lounging on our koi pond. Again, I'd post pics if I could grow a computer savvy brain. But alas, my talents are few, but time consuming. I can bring you back to life (ICU nurse here) shoot you, (gun enthusiast) or judo chop you, lol Tae quon do. I also love to cook, read, and do home improvement and I have a serious jewelry hobby. But this is sounding more like a personals ad, so suffice it to say, I have little spare time. But Jackson Galaxy shows that roaming strays can wreak havoc on housecats if they are hanging out and spraying/peeing.

You are 100% correct about stray cats. Your kitties are territorial and do not want another cat coming into their space. Thus, it affects the behavior of your kitty! The key is to attempt to keep the stray OUT of their space. Sight blockers are good. But a deterrent to keep the cat OUT is even better. Unfortunately, in some areas, strays are something one must deal with. We have several in our subdivision. Thankfully, they don't come around out house very often.

Nala hops on my lap and takes a nap therefore trapping me on the toilet.... I can never pee quickly anymore...

So I get back at her by taking photos of her.

Lol, I recognise the "poop face"... the slight frowning while looking out of the box.... I also take my revenge taking photos while they are doing their stuff.
