Hey All,
Since Bryan is my first Bengal I was wondering if the way he walks is just this "normal Bengal gait" that I've seen talked about, but don't really understand.
I've had cats in my life since I was born, but have never seen any walk like Bryan.
The only way I seem to able to describe it is like a staunch cowboy who's just gotten off his horse after a hard ride. He most certainly walks with purpose!
At first I thought he might be pigeon toed, but there's definitely no inward turned feet. I was at his Breeders place for a visit and noticed Bryan's sister (from an earlier litter, but same parents) seemed to walk the same way. I didn't think to ask the Breeder at the time.

I'll try to get a video at some stage, but thought I'd ask you guys in the meantime

Yes! When we first got Quasar, I thought he had something wrong in his lower back but the vet said that it's perfectly normal. It's like he walks more on the tips of his toes than on the full foot pad, like other cat's I've had.
DH describes his gait as strutting.

Grace definitely struts, and with that face she looks so serious and stern. She almost looks mad when she approaches, but then she leans against my leg and quivers all over and waits for me to pet her. Blondie on the other hand floats across the floor skipping, twirling and dancing, total opposites.

Hummm I always thought Bengals would look like elegant felines but nope. Echo looks like a cheetah on the wheel when running but her gait is more 'angry cat waiting to pounce on you' than dainty feline damsel. Perhaps that is the 'purposeful' look you describe.
Ishka on the other hand looks as if she needed to go to the loo - she's quite short legged and her short tail doesn't help, plus she's clumsy as hell (don't let her know I'm slagging her online!). At times though she looks like a child skipping while walking, which is quite cute, and then the rest of the time she's falling sideways to get a cuddle.

I'm always watching Raiden from his behind when we are on our walks and he definitely has his own gait compared to other kitties.
