Hi MWB, great trees! My husband is a carpenter and he has been promising to build a tree for Charlie for two years! We did make him a small tree and for the posts we went to our local carpet shop and got the solid cardboard inner roll for this. It is very sturdy and lightweight, easy to fix the sisal to and we just plugged the ends with a round of wood, glued in.

Brian, they have the option to reverse back in the other direction to a shelf I screwed to the window board (as we call it in the UK) also covered in carpet, so there is a third shelf effectively formed by the window opening.

Having said that...they quite happily jump off onto the sofa for a cushioned landing.

Surprisingly they have already learnt a cunning strategy to follow their brother half way up the pole and acrobatically twist and turn to jump off the pole to the window shelf, to then bound up the shelves to meet in the corner at the top for a wrestling match - impressive for 8 month olds

I'll add that there have been three or four 'dangling' incidents but neither has fallen off yet!

I need to get a photo of them with their numerous limbs hanging over various ledges!
