Hello to all,

HELP!......... Tia is due at the vets in just over a weeks time to be spayed

but we were woken up this morning to her screaming at the top of her lungs,

this has gone all day and this evening she is behaving in a way that only suggests one thing!

My question to anyone who has breeding females is, how long will this calling last, and will she still be able to have her op?

Hope to hear from you soon

best wishes

Nikki

Something like a banshee?

She'll only call for a few days to a week, so vets should be ok to do the op but phone them tomorrow and ask their advice!

Some girls calls are really rough and painful sounding and others just chirp like angels!

we have 2 that howl like a banshee and 2 little angels.....so I'm guessing you have a howler.....

Hi,

thank you for your quick reply, at least the howling won't go on for to long

and yes she is most certainly a howler  she sounds like she is in pain

it's heartbreaking to hear, although she is very affectionate.

I just had one more question i hope that you could answer, Tia is also

discharging what looks like a clear liquid, is this normal?

Many thanks

Nikki

Hard to answer that one really.....well without sounding all pervy!

There may be a moist look to it, but thats about it....

But in any case if theres discharge it should be reported to the vet straight away just to be on the safe side.....probably nothing to worry about but I'm not a vet so give them a call!

And yes it does sound like their in pain, Don't feel bad for her....shes just got an itch that only a man-cat can scratch!

Most vets will tell you of stories about owners thinking their cats were dying......even being called out in the middle of the night to what they believed an emergency turned out just to be a calling girl.
