Hi to all,

Tia will be 6 months old soon, in the last week or so she seems to be
getting quiet grumpy, i have booked her in at the vets to be spayed
but just wondered if this kind of sudden change in behaviour is normal,
as nothing in her routine has changed.

She still shows her kind loving side, but in the middle of a nice fuss she'll
attack my hand for no apparent reason, this behaviour is really starting to
worry me, can a females behaviour change when they become sexually
mature ? Will having the op make any difference to this strange behaviour

I hope that im just worrying myself about nothing as she is a very much
loved member of the family.

Any advise on this will be appreciated.

Nikki

When she comes home from the vets she will be no doubt feeling a little worse for wear, and also feeling sorry for herself so just make sure she feels safe, warm and loved and after a few days rest she'll be back to dabbling in mischief and normal bengal service will resume  .....bless her!

The biting is nothing abnormal for a bengal.....anyone will tell you they like to play rough once in a while.....it sounds harsh when you talk about getting them spayed/neutered, but ultimately its for their own well being.

The change in her cattitude is more than likely down to her reaching maturity.....so don't worry too much about that because after the op and after she's fully recovered you'll notice she'll be a little more loving towards you.

But remember even after the op she'll still be a bengal......and that means she'll still be as mad as a bucket of frogs!

Thank you for putting my mind at rest, as i was starting to think there was

a problem. do you think i have maybe left getting her spayed to late, as

she is nearly 6 months :?:

We were also thinking of getting another baby to keep her company, but

as we are saving hard it may not be until about march, do bengals except

other cats after such a long period of time in just human company, again

any advise on the matter would be appreciated.

most vets will only do them at about 5-6 months old, so I wouldn't think a few weeks would matter either way.

Bengals do mix well with other breeds, I've actually seen bengals playing and grooming a sphynx.....so that proves it for me.

Any kitten would fit right in as soon as the pecking order was sorted out regardless of breed.....Another bengal would be a worthy opponent though.....and more evenly matched!
